Yes, but soreness can be deceiving. My quads are often noticably sore when I walk up buildings. Yet to be honest, I feel fine when i use to run up 120 flights of stairs when working in melbourne (doing 4 trips to level 30), or when squatting 110kgx20.

There is soreness and then there is soreness.

Im sure most peoples quads would get sore if they could "walk up buildings".

    lol.

Walk up stairs I meant. Poor sleep last night - it always takes about 3 hours at least before I'm functional in the morning.

Are you trying to increase your squat wieght?
If so, I would say that you're not allowing a full recovery after a heavy leg session...
Are you doing a lot of running/cycling for cardio?
The amount of fatigue built up from this may be causing you to fatigue when doing your resistance stuff... Again, comes down to recovery...
Today I will do what you won't so Tomorrow I can do what you can't!

You are doing them twice a week. Maybe you should do them for once per week only?

Your legs are a big muscle group and need to recover properly.

Maybe you need to up your weights and reps so you are too damn sore for 5 days to think about something like more squats? When I was doing a proper split - I really FELT my legs for 4-5 days. Wouldn't think of doing them twice a week.
