    NO-Beta - Double-T Sports

Yeah, time for another workout log starring everyone's friend - NO Beta from Double T Sports. We all know by now Supps Direct had a little competition going and sent out numerous samples to those who were willing to test them.

I was one of the lucky ones to receive a full bottle (360) tablets. Regardless of the outcome of this product thus far the dealings with supps Direct have been great. Next day delivery so far on both items.

NO-Beta® is a potent no nonsense Nitric Oxide/Beta-Alanine (NO) performance enhancing formula created to blast the hell out of your muscles. Our research team set out to engineer the World's Most Powerful Nitric Oxide Product using NitricBeta™ technology.

NitricBeta™ technology is the force behind NO-Beta®. It's the three (3) anchor compounds driving the incredible Muscle Bursting Sensation experienced every time NO-Beta® is used. The ingredients Arginine Alpha-Ketoglutarate (A-AKG), Beta-Alanine and Creatine Ethyl Ester (CEE) are powerful compounds individually, but together they work synergistically to provide the most amazing training experience!

I workout in my home gym. Nothing flash. It does the job for me. I run a business and with 2 school aged kids and a wife, working out at a gym would take out a decent chunk of the day and I'd have to train in the evenings as I do school pickup and cook most meals. To solve that I set up a home gym which I am very happy using. There are a few exercises I cannot do but I make the most of what I have got.

I do a 5 days on, 2 off routine. Cardio on the stationary bike, treadmill or mountain bike is done at various times during the week, but not as much as I should.

    Mon - Forearms, Biceps, Triceps
    Tue - Legs
    Wed - Chest
    Thur - Back
    Fri - Shoulders
    Sat - Rest
    Sun - Rest

Other supps used during this time will be Champion Nutrition Pure Whey, multi-vitamin, krill oil and BCAA. I do take a shaker to work most days with Creatine Extreme in it which I'll drink during the course of the day. I consume roughly 2 litres of water a day as well.

    Monday 1st March.

    NO-Beta - 6 tablets about 15 minutes before workout.

Arms - Forearms, biceps & triceps.

I'm not fussed about the size of the weight used but the way I use it. For the sake of this log I'll add the weights used.

    Biceps

    Warm up
    * 2x15 Ezy Bar Curls - 15kg

    Working Sets
    *Barbell curl 3x12 - 30kg
    *Dumbbell Hammer Curl - 3x12 - 20kg
*Low Pulley Machine Preacher Curl - 3x6 22kg.

During the preacher curls I though my arms were going to explode. A couple of veins popped out which made me want to go heavier. I probably should have gone lighter with higher reps but it was feeling good so I kept going.

    Triceps

    Warm up.
    *Rope Pulldowns 1x15 - 22kg

    Working Sets
    *Rope Pulldowns - 3x12 - 27kg
    *Close Grip Bench Press - 3x6 - 50kg
    *Angled Bar Pushdowns - 3x10 - 36kg

    Forearms
*3x15 reverse grip Ezy Curl bar curls - 15kg

During the reverse curls I could feel the 3 areas - bi, tri, forearms - working together and my arms felt huge. The pump I had made me want to keep going all night but I knew I had to stop. Even now, 12 hours later, there is a great feeling in my arms. Slight soreness but a nice soreness knowing they've been worked well. I went for a 30km bike ride this morning and still feel good.

So far so good. For arms this products gets a 9/10. I'll be interested to see how I go with legs tomorrow.....................

Hey rajah, goodluck with your log mate.
I've found light weight, massive high reps really brought my peak out and got my arms growing.

Could I suggest a failiure on the last set? Like 30+ reps and really tight contractions? It will get you burning ;)

    Adios

I'll mix it up over the coming weeks to see what I get out of it. 30+ on the last set and they'd blow up!

I'm keeping an eye on your log as well so we can get ideas of each other. mikasadan's being very thorough on his log. All he's missing out on is the air temp and what music was playing during his workout.

    Cheers.

    NO-Beta - 6 tablets about 15 minutes before workout.

    Legs.

Even when I did train at a gym I never really trained my legs as much as I should have. I'm paying for it now with crap weak legs. I bought a Smith Machine last year, albeit a basic one. Cost about $400 from eBay and has a weight limit of about 200kg. So far my best was about 80kg which looking at other people's figures is pretty light. I'll get there one day. I'm an old man with bung knees, I have to be careful.

As stated yesterday I went for a 30km bike ride on Monday morning and my legs are still feeling it. Just before my workout I took 6 tablets and had to go to the post office so I hoped on the bike and did a quick 2km ride there and back for my warm up.

    *Leg Extension 4x15 45kg
    *Standing Leg Curl 4x15 13kg
    *Lying Leg Curls 4x10 40kg
    *Standing Calf Raises 4x20 50kg

I usually do squats but my legs were fried. I do put that down to the bike ride, not the NO-Beta. One thing I did notice with the NO-Beta was that I was getting itchy from the beta alanine. My first useage of beta alanine was with Biocharge and my God did it itch! Felt like I was burning all over. I eventually gained the tolerance to it but it seems to be a bit more noticeable now. Maybe it will go after a few more days.

My legs still feel good 12 hours later. They have that nice worked feeling. I gave myself most of this week off so I won't be bike riding next week when i do legs so it'll be good to see how it goes with some squats.

    NO-Beta - 6 tablets about 15 minutes before workout.

    Chest

I've misplaced my notes from the gym the other night. I can roughly remember what I did but numbers may escape me. Again, my aging body, I tore my rotator cuff many years ago and had it operated on about 5 years ago. I still get soreness from it and have never been able to train my chest 100%.

    Warm Up.
    *Machine Chest Press 2x15

    Working Sets
    *Flat Bench 4x8 50kg
    *Incline Flyes 4x12
    *Incline Press 2x10 24kg.

It was at the start of the 3rd set of incline presses that I started to feel dizzy. I bent over to pick up the dumbbells and as I lay back I felt dizzy. I regained myself, put the weights down and called it a night. Had low blood pressure for some reason. Never happened befopre doing weight work, but I was going heavy, for me, on the inclines. Obviously it was too heavy.

One thing I did notice today is that the itchy/tingly feeling from the beta alanine had gone. Made it more comfortable.

    NO-Beta - 6 tablets about 15 minutes before workout.

    Back

    Warm Up
    *Lat Pulldown 2x15 36kg

    Working Sets
    *Lat Pulldown - 3x10 54kg
    *Straight Arm Pulldown 4x15 18kg
    *Seated Cable Rows 3x10 67kg
*Smith Machine Bent Over Rows 4x12 50kg
    *T-Bat Row w/Barbell 4x12 55kg

I was wrecked after this, and I felt great. I did the workout quite quickly, wanted to finish so i could go back inside and watch UFC Wired. 12 hours later and the back feels well worked. It'll be interesting to see how I feel later on today or even tomorrow.

No more itchy feeling from the tablets.

NO-Beta 6 tablets about 15 minutes before workout.

Due to my rotator cuff operation years ago I've been very slack in the shoulder department. Things are starting to come good and I'm actually enjoying the shoulder workout routine.

    Shoulders

*Smith Machine Seated Press 4x12 30kg
    *Upright Rows 3x8 30kg
    *Shrugs 1x15 30kg, 3x12 80kg, 2x15 30kg
    *Front Raise 3x10 9kg
    *Side Raise 3x10 9kg
    *Bent Over Raise 3x10 9kg

Basically did a giant set with the last 3, doing one arms raises for the first 2 then doing both shoulders for the bent over raise. Hopefully I've got the names of the exercises down properly.

I can feel the muscles got a good workout. Traps are feeling a little sore but it's a nice soreness.

    ************************************************** ************************************************** ***************************************

Well that's my first week of working out with NO-Beta. So far so good. Nothing negative to report thus far which is a good thing. It's nice being able to take tablets for a pre-workout rather than having to take another shaker with water and a pre-workout. I may take more than 6 tablets next week for some of the workouts. Biggest pump feeling is definitely in the arms.
I got some Body Mortar the other day which I will be incorporating into my supplement routine next week. I'll be drinking this during my workout to aid in recovery. Now I'm having a couple of days off, maybe have a cardio session in there over the weekend and I'll be back into it on Monday again with arms. For those who've been reading, many thanks. Glad to know all this is not going to waste.

    nice log Rajah,

Jaiman: I've found light weight, massive high reps really brought my peak out and got my arms growing.
i think you guys are onto something here, i try and keep my workouts low reps with heavy weights. since taking no beta, at the end of each upper body workout i have been doing a couple sets of low weights till failure (mainly tricep/bicep) in order to really attenuate the pump.

    keep up the good work!

Cheers Eli, I'm finding it's nice to encourage the 4 of us along the way and compare.

I've been varying the reps with some to 6-8 reps and some at 12-15 reps. Mixing it up a little to see how it goes. I'm not trying to bulk at the moment so I'm not going heavy, trying to focus more of feeling the weight I do lift and do it correctly.

I may try some of Hany Rambod's FST-7 training this week and see how that goes.

NO-Beta 6 tablets about 15 minutes before workout.

    Biceps

    Warm Up
    * 2x15 Ezy Bar Curls - 15kg

    Working Sets
    *Barbell curl 4x10 - 30kg
    *Dumbbell Hammer Curl - 4x10 - 20kg
*Low Pulley Machine Preacher Curl - 4x12 13kg
    *Seated Incline Dumbbell Curls 4x12

I hoped back on the Ezy Bar curls and did sets of "Jaiman Curls" 2x30 15kg. Remind me to clip him over the back of the head on Saturday - my arms were sore!

    Triceps

    Warm up.
    *Pulldowns 2x15 22kg

    Working Sets
    *Pulldowns 3x12 31kg
    *Rope Pulldowns - 3x15 - 22kg
    *Close Grip Bench Press - 3x15 - 30kg
    *Angled Bar Pushdowns - 3x15 - 31kg

    Forearms
*3x15 reverse grip Ezy Curl bar curls - 15kg

This week I went for lower weights with more reps and sets. Felt nice and pumped afterwards. Biceps are feeling nice and full nearly 24 hours later. The workouts of the last week have been quite good. There have been times when I don't have the time or energy to complete a decent weeks workout but I must say last weeks workouts were some of the best I've had. Didn't skip on anything.

One thing I have noticed, or it maybe in my mind, is that it's taking longer for the tablets to kick in. I take them about 15 minutes before the workout and for the first few nights I'd get an itchy feeling from the beta-alanine, strangely enough the "itch" was confined to my upper back. I noticed it last night about 40 minutes into my workout.

I'm going to take them now for a 7:30-7:45pm workout and see how that goes.
