    Question Hydrolyzed caseinate (Pepto Pro)

I have only recently become aware of this type of protein and have read some positive studies and great anecdotall feedback on it.
I am curious if anyone here has used/uses this stuff?
From what i have read so far it seem that being more affective and therefore needing much less powder per serve it may be worth trying as its cost here is about triple other Whey Protein.

Gettinthere, would be interesting to see the evidence you mentioned, as whey already has a very high biological value.
For something to be much better gets very difficult as whey's absorption is very close to 100%.

Very rarely will evidence of any patented product (as this appears to be) will have been conducted by independent sources, which means any "evidence" should be viewed with caution.
Feel free to throw up what you have though, would be keen to have a look.

Some info i found on Hydrolyzed Casein here is what interested me Effect of a hypocaloric diet, increased protein in... [Ann Nutr Metab. 2000] - PubMed result
and then there is DSMs claims for their patented PeptoPro DSM - PeptoProŽ - Claims and underlying evidence which i agree are most likely not independently tested.
The only difference i have managed to see between PeptoPro and Casein hydrolysate is the price and apparently CH is extremely bitter even worse then WPIH.

    Interesting results.
There have been some similar studies which have backed regular casein in the same manner though, again muscle growth and recovery inreased, put down to it's greater nitrogen retention over time comapred with whey.
Like all studies there are catches, in the one which supported casein, participants simply had one whey shake, discounting the benefit (and reality0 of being able to have subsequent drinks.

Would be worth looking into studies wich compared regular casein to the hydrolyzed versions.

I thought as much Bioflex, i just wanted some more informed opinions as i was thinking of trying it out but the massive cost and the fact that my current supp of regular caseins seem to be enough right now brings me to the decision to wait for more proven research on this 'super' protein :P.
