    DIGESTIVE ENZYMES and PROBIOTICS

Do any of you guys use Digestive Enzymes and Probiotics if so what brand?

I thought of buying NOW super Enzymes to help with my digestion and I read that Probiotics are good as well and also good for your immunity.

mate i used to use Inner Heatlh Plus, do i notice its effect yes, do i suffer when i do not use it no not really. My diet is pretty varied also, i think this helps, if money allows i would probably use it again.

Its one of those things i think helps especially if you under stress, have a big diet change or your on medication.

It depends on what you want them for? Do you need HCL, digestive enzymes or a specific probiotic?

I use Ethical Nutrients Digestion Plus, its a protein digestive.
If i dont take it then i fart abit and they will stink! When i do take it i rarely fart and they dont smell.
I use it mainly because i eat alot of meat, as i eat a very low carb diet.
It goes for about $17.15 for 90 tablets and i have 1 tablet before every meal, dont see the need for anymore than that.

    What is HCL?

I want something to help digest my food as some foods make me fill like a ballon and bloated like meat can do it for me some times as can beans, chick peas, breads blow me right up.

With the probiotic a different strains for different use? I would like something to strengthen my immunity and help with digestion.

For protein digestion these are great. They are the retail version of Metagenics Metagest. Im pretty sure the potency is the same as the practitioner version.

    HCL - hydrochloric acid?!

    Random info I have found...

"Betaine HCL is a non-essential nutrient and a source of hydrochloric acid-a naturally occurring chemical in the stomach that breaks down fats and proteins. It is necessary for the metabolizing (absorption) of protein, calcium, vitamin B12, and iron.

It is also called hydrochloric and stomach acids. The low PH of the stomach's hydrochloric acid allows it to digest any bacteria and micro-organisms that might have been ingested.

There are no food sources of Betaine HCL, but it is naturally produced in the parietal cells of the stomach."

A good HCL supplement should also have Gentian to stimulate your body's own HCL production.

The way I always make my stomach digest and settle down is to chew chewing gum.

Would my body be down on HCL?

Excellent thanks. What type of symptoms would present for you to recommend this? Or its perhaps a good supplement to use if you have a high protein diet?

Would Metagest be good for bloat and fullness after a feed so it can break down protein carbs and fats and use up all the nutrients from the food?

I put 90% of my clients on Metagest. As well as clients presenting symptoms e.g. bloating, reflux I also use muscle testing and and Applied Kinesiology points for testing/assessment.

I find for best results eat your protein first, then take sups in the middle of the meal, then eat the vegetable/salad portion.
