Hey just the other night a friend of mine linked me to this site which he buys his proteins from, professionalwhey.com.au
Thought i'd share it with you guys as I am still stumped as to how they charge to low compared to everyone else i've seen.

    Worth checking it out.

They are pretty comparable price wise to Bulk Nutrients and Protein Direct, both of who are board sponsors.

    5kg unflavoured protein
    PW - $94.50+|$12 postage
    PD - $95+$7 postage
    BN - $92+$12 postage

Of course the advantage of Protein Direct and Bulk Nutrients is they sponsor Size Matters, so they make this forum possible.

I don't know about false claims, PD may have been aluding to the fact they quote their protein percentage on a "dry" basis. If so, I agree this is a bit misleading.

I feel we offer a better service than this competitor for a few reasons, first, we offer flavoured proteins rather than just raw whey (90% of customers prefer a flavoured product). Next, we offer a much larger range of amino acids and extracts, at significantly better prices.
If you just buy protein you will likely get a better deal from us, if you want anything else with your order (as most do) in terms of amino acids, test boosters, fat burners etc) then the total price from us will be likely be at least 20% cheaper due to our much more competitive amino and extract prices.

Jeff, would be interesting to see if your mate is buying anything else from them apart from raw proteins, if he is, send him our whey as we'll likely save him a lot!

I've used them before and I've found the service to be excellent, however I'm not into a full suite of supplements - just bought protein & glutamine from them.

My pre-workout protein is mixed with juice so I prefer to have unflavoured protein for that.

Haha yeah actually i recommended him to all 3 of your sites to be honest to give him a look at prices and stuff which I have done to all my friends who have asked. Most of my friends are still stuck in their ways of buying those big brand overpriced powders even though I'm trying to convert them over to our side :P

Tim, i was more referring to the larger sizes such as 20kg where the difference becomes quite large but yeah, I havent bought from them, nor am I trying to take away business from our sponsers. Personally I am still supporting sponsers, infact I have made purchases from a few already and will continue to do so.

Nick, man cant say enough how much i am liking the cake batter. I just came on earlier as my cousin tried it and was thinking of purchasing a tub of MGN himself but was shocked to see prices have jumped by like $20!

I decided not to waste my time mentioning this guy anymore. People can make up their own mind and to some price is the most important part and if that is the case then I am not the cheapest, never intended to be the cheapest and I am not aiming to be the cheapest although I still believe my prices are very competitive.

My issue with him is he started buying 20kg bags and then packing it himself at home into smaller bags which is against food regulations. Second, he was getting a protein from the same supplier as me (it was Murray Goulburn if I am not wrong). Even though we were both selling the exact same protein (from the same supplier) somehow his had more protein. Huh? And then I started importing my own WPC which was from a big American company that was producing everything from American Grade A Milk (this is a rating applicable only to American milk). Then all of a sudden his own protein was made from American Grade A Milk which was a blatant lie because the guy he was buying it from did not have the protein made from American Grade A Milk. I confronted him about it and of course he never replied.
I give him this though: he shows his face on the website. There are countless others that when you click on the contact us page, there is not a phone number, an address or even a name. And like Bioflex said, showing the protein as dry basis? Now this is not directed at anyone in particular and I don't mean to put anyone down, but you guys know a thing or two about whey proteins, yet can any of you SM members tell me what "dry basis" means? (without doing a google search first :)

Mate its hard when your trying to get a product out there and in the stores so i have to put my prices up or i would be in direct competetion with my customers. If you or anyone wants anything you can always contact me directly for a better price on anything. Also with the SM discount the 5LB blend is is still under $80 bucks. But like i said you can always haggle me for a better deal.

Can definitely appreciate the pain you are facing. Taking somewhat of a short term loss (in terms of direct sales) for a greater goal of much bigger total distribution.
It's a positive transition though, shows things are progressing well for you.

The only thing I found particularly useful was the Vibrams.

They're cheaper than the Vibram Australia site. Service isn't bad, but range is very limited.

BN/Bioflex in my experience (as he's the only board sponsor I've use to date) is superior in every way.

    Regards,

    -Mitch.

    Hey PD
I know you said you decided not to waste your time mentioning this guy anymore but isnt there some sort of law in this country against false advertising as well as the food handling issues?

You're right. There are plenty of laws. But whether or not they get applied that is another story. Quick example: as some of you know I was a distributor many years ago for Next Proteins (Designer Whey), Prolab Nutrition, Universal and Twinlab. Anyway, I had a shop and this council woman came in to test one of my products to make sure all is ok. The tests came back positive and everything was ok except for the labelling. I had to change something to the label which was all fine. Anyway, she came back again and bought another tub of protein (this time a smaller one) to make sure I again comply. This time everything was fine including label. Anyway, I decided to ask her about a brand I was very certain was dodgy because there was no way they could make a profit on those ingredients at that price. She said she will investigate. Anyway, a few weeks later she sends me a letter saying that I was right and that product (a protein powder) was not meeting the label claims. Furthermore the same product was not only sold in her area but the actual manufacturer was based in the area however, due to privacy laws she can't comment any further. That company is still in business and as far as I know they never got a fine or anything. This is just one example about how selective certain laws get applied.

I remember when I did the business course we had there a fantastic lecturer. He said this: "If you want to go in partnership with someone, if you don't trust that person then don't get into a partnership with him. Don't think that signing a contract will mean he will be forced to do the right thing." That was brilliant advice.

One more example and I am done. I was a distributor for Prolab and the guys decided to no longer sell direct to me but via another American distributor. Anyway, the new distributor was already selling other supplements to another Australian guy and decided to try and sell to that guy instead of me. I was frustrated because I helped establish Prolab in those days and now I find myself shafted. Anyway, I rung the guy from Prolab all night long because of the time difference. He never returned any of my calls. Two years later I see him at the Mr. Olympia expo and I asked him about selling his products in Russia (I have a strong accent and everyone assumes I am Russian). He told me he couldn't sell to me because he already has a distributor in Russia and his word is his greatest asset, blah, blah, blah. I then confronted him and told him who I was and that he never replied to my calls and he just looked embarassed and that was the end of it. Some guys can lie so straight to your face. Rant over.
