How are we to know apart from Googling the product or the ingredients before we purchase.

Why do the bloody Yanks get all the good stuff and we miss out????

I should be able to decide what I put into my body !!!!!!!!!

The TGA website has a list of substances that are controlled.

and yes, you should be able to buy (within reason) whatever you like.

I received a bill from customs through DHL for somewhere around $47 because they inspected and confiscated a protein powder sample that was in with my order my milk thistle was also missing but there was no mention of it being an issue. On the letter it stated they were checking the stevia extract and the protein powder. Luckily iherb refunded me for the missing milk thistle but yeah I don't want to get slugged $47 every time they decide to inspect my parcel.

Hi Sheree, do a quick search on SM because we've discussed this at length. Many of us got slugged the charge. Ring up DHL and complain and for most it seems they waived it. Don't use DHL. The standard airmail post works fine, cheap and remarkably quick.

Thank you very much for the heads up, I found the threads :)

I used to order from 1fast many years ago and they would always get checked but I was never charged any fee, one time my alcar was missing so Mike gave me credit for double of what I paid for the ALCAR. He was great but I read somewhere that he was no longer there so I use iherb. I looked up my protein powder sample just now and no idea why it was seized, crazy. I never did pay that DHL bill, I had just moved and was busy unpacking and they have never sent me another one, if they do I will give calling them a go, I just couldn't see the logic in having to pay that fee to allegedly speed up the processing without them even bothering to ask me.

    That's good Sheree.

To rub salt in the wound of the DHL invoice, the standard mail parcels from iherb all seem to be getting opened as well, but without any invoice being raised on you.

    Smells fishy.

    Angry

TGA in Australia stinks. We have the toughest medicine laws in the world.

In fact the whole rhetoric of prohibition stinks............ pisses me off.

We have a right to use what we like - even hard drugs if we so desire. The govt has a responsibility only to regulate not the right to prohibit.

Totally agree with the TGA statement about them they do stink mate, we are the most heavily regulated industry in the world the supplement industry that is.

Sad thing about it no-one has died from taking supps.

So the real question is why are they so strict ?????
