    Testing Bulk Nutrients combo

    Hey guys,

So I followed a recipe from BioFlex (using his Bulk Nutrients store).

    The combo is as follows:
    100g of Sesamin,
    100g of Green Tea,
    250g of Hydroxy Citric Acid,
    250g of Acetyl Carnitine,
    40g of Caffeine *,
    250g of Choline Bitarate *

The * indicates a change to what the website recommended. I use this supp as a fat burner but also as a kick in the pants to assist my very early morning workout routines. So I upped 10g of Caffeine to 40g and added the Choline Bitarate.

VERY IMPORTANT NOTE - my instinct was to put all of this into an old protein supp tub and shake it up for 30 seconds. BEFORE I took my first serve I checked in with Bioflex. He told me it needs much more mixing. My chosen method was to transfer everything to a big mixing bowl in my kitchen mixer. I ran it for 7 minutes while constantly scraping down the sides to make sure everything got mixed properly

This is intended to give me 200 serves of supplement. The combined weight of the above is 990g, so each serve is meant to be 5g. I don't have pocket scales yet so I am estimating this as heaped teaspoon - using a proper measuring teaspoon.

    Effects thus far:
    Dose 1 (yesterday):
Note - I had a family commitment on Friday night so I was operating on 4hrs sleep
I took my heaped teaspoon on a slightly agitated stomach (from the lack of sleep) and immediately prior to a 25km training run.

    * The taste was terrible. However I have had supps like this before. I managed by putting the whole teaspoon on my tongue dry and immediately swallowing it with a big mouthful of water. Then followed by Multi-V and iron supps.
    * My agitated stomach did get worse and I chucked up a little bit at around the 30 minute mark.
    * Everything then settled down and I went for my run.
    * No jitteriness or wierd feelings - however I was not tired during my run
    * I was HOT. Weather hot but also I felt like I was running in the sun (which I was) with bad sunburn on my shoulers\neck (which I wasn't). So I assume I was feeling the influence of the supp in my upper body.
    * Everything calmed down, I was still able to really relax into my after run massage and I had a nap in the afternoon. (So I figure the stimulants where not overdosing.

    Dose 2 (today):
    * Still tasted terrible ;)
    * My stomach was fine before I took the supp and mildly agitated afterward but that passed fairly quickly.
    * I did my off day workout with no jitteriness.
    * Currently feel very awake but nothing else.

I will keep you guys informed of any ill effects and weight loss increases. Most of you know my history and current status.

    I lost heaps of weight
    Currently train for enurance triathlons
Need to eat heaps to enable my level of training
Am not budging weight and haven't for a little while (but cannot drop food intake because training suffers).

Question to the forum - Should I up my dose until I do feel a bit jittery or just leave it as it is?

I intend on taking 1 dose per day but may add a second one around lunchtime on the days where I have an evening training session.

I took 2 doses yesterday and am about to take my second dose for today.

    I figured 'Why not?'

I have to say the taste does not get better. However it must be doing something. I am only eating slightly less than I was (remember the argument that I need my food for training) but am constantly hungry.

Hi Clownboy, thanks for the write up, it is very thorough.
Will follow your results with great interest, if you do work out a way to reduce the bad taste of the compounds be sure to let us know too!

Btw, The post heading says "Bulk Nutrition", we are Bulk Nutrients, may be worth a change as some people may confuse us with either the U.S store bulknutrition or bulknutrition.com.au which is another brand all together.

Sorry Bioflex - I changed it in here but it has the same name in the forum.

I tell you - I keep making that mistake in my URL also.

    Update on supps.

I am taking it twice a day afterall.

I PM'd a mod to ask if they can fix the title.

I mixed up the choc protein this morning (4kg into a big plastic tub with the flabouring - stired it around for several minutes until it all looked consistant). Was a bit sweet for me when had with milk BUT I usually have it with water. I bet it will be perfect with water. Will find out tomorrow.

I reckon the fat burner is working. Tuesday is one of my hard days for training. I ride AND run in the morning. Ride and swim in the PM.

I didn't feel like eating after my run this morning so instead of my usual brekky, I just had a muesli bar and a protein shake with milk. I still had enough energy to create a new record on my morning commute.

However we then had a company brekky I had to go to. I managed to avoid the bacon and sausages, etc - but in return I ended up with 5 eggs on my 2 slices of wholemeal toast. Big second breakfast but I will likely need it for this afternoon.

I am losing weight this week - but won't share numbers until I weigh in.

Plus I am feeling good for 23 hours and 40 minutes per day. I lose 10 minutes per dose due to the goddamn taste. Have I mentioned it is terrible?

Definitely enough stims - still don't get jittery but realised how awake and alert I have been.

Monday will be my next official weigh in so I will post my performance then.

I have probably cut my food by 10% and suffered a bit because of it but not much.

Otherwise, no other change bar the supps.

I have been weighing in light all week, 102.5 this morning (which would be about 2KG down). However due to fluctuations that happens - I am pegging my expectations at 1-1.5kg off. This is compared to no drop of over a few hundred grams in a while.

Okay, the results are in for week 1 but I am concerned.

The numbers are simply too good to be true. I think.

So no jumping up or down until I duplicate it next week!

The below are from my official weigh ins - every Monday morning since start Jan.

    04/01/10 106.6
    11/01/10 104.9 -1.7
    18/01/10 102.5 -2.4
    25/01/10 105.0 2.5
    01/02/10 104.5 -0.5
    08/02/10 104.3 -0.2
    15/02/10 101.9 -2.4

Note, prior to this week - the only drop over a couple of hundred grams was mid Jan. I had a flu at the time - so hardly any training and hardly any food either. That bit doesn't count (plus I put the weight on immediately after getting well).

This weeks results come from a slight trimming on the food (no big change) plus the supps. Nothing else.

I am feeling pretty good. It is almost worth the taste.

I also feel veyr energised. The caffeine is not enough to make me feel jittery BUT I do feel very alert all day. Then sleep easily. So I am leaving the dosage as is.

    Will do.

If next week's weigh in is in the area of 100.0 - 100.5, then I will call it a great success.

I am well aware that sometimes you can dip down or up with no apparent explanation (justl ike the dip when I had the flu). So today could just be a coincidental dip - but it looks promising.

I am going to throw a party when I get below 100kg. I cannot remember being there since I was 15-16 or something.

Noice! I weighed in twice to make sure.

I actually weigh in every day just to see how it goes - and I usually see the pattern of some days lower and some higher. It was pretty steady this week though. Including Thursday and Friday in the mid 102s.

    Twice a day.

I get up at 4am - take it as quick as possible.

I train from 4:30 to 7:00\7:30 (depending on the type of traiing, there may be some food).

Brekky (used to be quite big, now reduced. This is the main change in my diet when I say I made some small changes).

    10:30ish - sml m\tea

    11:30 - dose 2

    12:00 - 1:00 (sometime in here ) - lunch

    3-ish sml a\tea

    4:30 - 6:30\7:00 - training

    medium-lge dinner

    bed.

Each dose is a rounded (but not too heaped) teaspoon. I have spent most of my time putting the whole dose on my tongue and chasing it with water. This weekend I tried taking a couple by mixing with a mouthfull of water before taking. Both ways taste terrible and I almost gag.

    But it works.

I have found a mouthful of milk helps if it agitates my stomach in the morning. This doesn't happen in the later dose, presumably because my stomach is not as empty.

This is a rough indicator. Meal times and dosage are about the same each day. Training varies.

Do you want more info on the acutal diet?
