    Rolled oats in proyein shake?

Weight gainers are so damn expensive so i was thinking about just chucking some whey, water and rolled oats into a blender.

    Would this be effective?

EDIT: Thats protein not proyein lol

All that are in weight gainers are just whey with some type of simple carb.

If you want to create your own you can just have a simple carb like dextrose, sugar etc mixed with whey.

A good recipe would be oats, banana and whey all blended with water

Not only would it be effective, but it would probably be better for you considering you're having the oats relitively unprocessed...

There are times when I do that and it's a great shake. I don't bother with the blender, it ends up being a shake you have to chew, but this will just aid digestion (chewing triggers digestive enzymes)

oh you wanna make sure you have a decent blender to i had a crappy brevil and the thing blew up after a few months of these shakes.

Got a 800w sunbeam never looked back i recomend sunbeam for quality over kranbrook/brevil any day.

Make your own with standard protein powder, FULL CREAM milk and oats.

I've been using M1CH43L's recipe for about 12 months and it grouse. I like milo, or choc topping for flavouring. I find the banana is important too as it binds the ingredients together and makes its easier to drink.

-edit- I put some plain organic yoghurt in mine as well

I have a scoop of whey, a load of oats, a banana and a handful of frozen mixed berries all blended with milk every morning. Yum.

BUlking or cutting or maintence ... it's a great way to have a shake before and after workouts with non-processed sugar carbs..

Yea great point i forgot to mention that....

The shake doesn't work without the banana because the mixture isn't thick enough and all the oats will float down to the bottom you will still get this to some degree with a banana but this can be avoided by drink the shake immediately after blending.

Many times i've ran out of banana's and it was a pain in the ass...

For a substitute i buy frozen berries from the frozen food section to replace the banana this is really nice and goes down well but unfortunately alot more expensive than bananas.

Mixed Quick oats (roughly 100 grams) with warm water and 20-30 grams of protein together with Stevia for many years.
It is very quick and fill you up at a low cost.
I just mix it all in a container with a fork and then drink it, got this suggestion around 15 years ago from a body builder.
