Strongman Qld State Titles

Athletes to receive:
- Shirt
- Sponsor gifts
- Top three athletes from each division get to compete in the Nationals which will be announced after the states.
- Winners get awarded Queensland’s Strongest Man.

Events: 105’s
1. Yoke Walk 305kg x 20m, Farmers Walk 120kg per hand x 20m
2. Dumbbell press for reps x 55kg
3. Axel press for Max Weight, 4 attempts. Start 100kg.
4. Car deadlift for reps – Hatch
5. Stone for height – 130 kg stone (4 attempts)
6. Mystery event (depending on major sponsor)

Events: OPEN
1. Yolk Walk 355kg x 20m, Farmers Walk 140kg per hand
2. Dumbbell press for max reps x 65kg
3. Axle press for Max Weight, 4 attempts. Start 120kg
4. Car deadlift for reps – Ute
5. Stone for height – 150kg stone ( 4 attempts)
6. Mystery event (depending on major sponsor)

Hey guys Five Dock Strongman Society & Camden Strongman are happy to announce the next competition that will be held in Sydney! Below are all the details of where/when/events.

Where: Five Dock Leisure Centre - Corner of Queens Rd and William St

When: Sunday 27th June, 9am arrival for 9:45am start.

Cost: $50 per competitor (includes event Tshirt)

Divisions: Womens/Junior/Intermediate/Senior

The Events & Weights -

1. Medley. 15m Arm over Arm ute pull, 30m farmers, 3 reps on thick DB - 2min 30sec limit.

W - Ute, 40kg farmers, 15kg DB x3 reps
J - Ute +2 people, 70kg farmers, 30kg DB x3 reps
I - Ute +4 people, 90kg farmers, 45kg DB x3 reps
S - Ute +6 people, 110kg farmers, 55kg DB x3 reps

2. Yoke 30m - 1 minute limit

W - 130kg
J - 170kg
I - 220kg
S - 280kg

3. Car Deadlift - 75 seconds (no straps)

W - Ute
J - Ute +1 person
I - Ute +2 people
S - Ute +3 people

4. Axle clean and press from the floor for reps (head to head - 2 people going at the same time against each other) 75 seconds

W - 32.5kg
J - 55kg
I - 75kg
S - 95kg

5. Stones to Barrels 1min 30sec time limit

W - 50, 55, 60, 70, 80
J - 80, 100, 105, 110, 120
I - 100, 110, 120, 130, 140
S - 110, 120, 130, 140, 155

Anyone from here competing in the Syd event?

I doubt it mate. The only competing strongmen here are myself and Theeos I believe.

i might be going got a mate competing..

Early September there should be another Camden/Five Dock comp but it is a State Title Comp so it will be heavier

Also at the same comp will be an invite only Open event and its going to be a very heavy one!! 400kg+ Yoke, 125kg Axle for reps etc.

Bill Lyndon has announced the following contest between Derek Boyer and Warrick Brant.

Both men claim to be Australia's Strongest Man - Derek by virtue of winning the title a number of times at the Australia's Strongest Man event, and Warrick who claims the title is his as he has never been beaten by another Australian in a strength sport.

The prize is entry into the World's Strongest Man event.

This match up will be highly anticipated throughout the strength community in Australia.

Winner gets birth to WSM In the case that an Athlete is injured prior to the event and or can not attend he forfeits the right to attend WSM 2010, giving the other direct entry to WSM 2010.
No Prize Monies, No Expenses paid. Prize is Place at WSM 2010.

Derek as a great grip so should cover a fair distance
Warrick has posted vids of him doing 180kg Log
Warricks grip on deadlift will lef him down
Warrick is very good on stones, slow, but good

Pretty sure there will be no charge.

It has turned into a pretty big event, the elite class has three Australia's Strongest Man competitors (including Australia's strongest amateur) as well as some of the strongest amateurs in the country and a man who I believe to be Australia's strongest teenager. And its bloody heavy - the weights Theeos has mentioned above are world-class.
