    Dreams

Had a strange dream a few nights ago, I was running and hiding from someone and then I tried to commit suicide by jumping out a window very high up. I managed to grab onto something on the way down and did not end up dead.

Very strange indeed, first one of this nature I have ever had.

Hmmmm what is my brain trying to tell me ????

Hi Obi copied this from a dream website I use.

    Chased
Chase dreams is one of several common dream themes. As with most of the common dreams, they often stem from feelings of anxiety in your waking life. Running is an instinctive response to physical threats in your environment. In these dreams, you can be pursued by an attacker, an animal or an unknown figure, who wants to hurt or possibly kill you. In turn, you run, hide or try to outwit your pursuer. Your actions in the dream parallel how you respond to pressure and cope with fears, stress or various situations in your waking life. Instead of confronting the situation, you are running away and avoiding it. Ask yourself who is the one chasing you so that you can gain understanding and insight on the source of your fears and anxieties.

The pursuer or attacker who is chasing you in your dream may also represent an aspect of yourself. Your own feelings of anger, jealousy, fear, and possibly love, can assume the appearance of threatening figure. The shadowy figure can also symbolize rejected characteristics of your self. You may be projecting these feelings onto the unknown chaser. Next time you have a chase dream, turn around and confront your pursuer. Ask them why they are chasing you. Perhaps you are running away from something. What are you trying to run from?

If you are the one doing the chasing, then the dream may highlight your drive and ambition to go after something you want. Or perhaps the dream suggests that you are falling behind and having to catch up with everyone else.

Consider the distance or gap between you and your pursuer. This indicates your closeness to the issue. If the pursuer is gaining on you, then it suggests that the problem is not going to go away. The problem will surround you until you confront and address it. However, if you are able to widen the gap between your pursuer, then the problem is becoming less and less of an issue. You are able to successful distance yourself from the problem. In essence, the problem is fading away.

A more direct analysis of chase dreams is the fear of being attacked. Such dreams are more common among women than men, who may feel physically vulnerable in the urban environment. These dreams are inspired by fears of violence and sexual assault in which we are so over-exposed from the media, which magnifies such fears.

    Suicide
To dream that you commit suicide, suggests that conditions in your life are so frustrating that you no longer want to deal with the situation or relationship You may be harboring feelings of guilt that you cannot get over and thus turning the aggression on yourself. You need to start approaching problems from a different angle. Alternatively, it may suggest that you are saying good-bye to one aspect of yourself and hello to a whole new you. It is symbolic of a personal transformation or a new stage in your life.

To see someone commit suicide in you dream, highlights your concerns for that person. Also consider what characteristics and qualities in that person you may be trying to "kill" and annihilate in your own self. Perhaps you hope that you are not like that person in some way and are making attempts to get rid of those traits within your own self.

    Window
To see windows in your dream, signifies bright hopes, vast possibilities and insight. If the windows of a house is dark, then it indicates a loss in your perception or vitality.

To dream that you are looking out the window, signifies your outlook on life, your consciousness, point of view, awareness, and intuition. You may be reflecting on a decision and seeking guidance. Or you need to go out into the larger world and experience life. If you are looking in the window, then it indicates that you are doing some soul searching and looking within yourself.

To see shut windows in your dream, signifies desertion and abandonment.

To see shattered and broken windows, represents your distorted view and outlook on life. It is also indicates a state of vulnerability.

To see a tinted window in your dream, represents your need for privacy and your ways of getting it. You are keeping aspects of yourself hidden or that you want to remain ambiguous.

To dream that you are washing windows, suggests that you need some clarity in some matter. Something is not clear.

I love remembering my dreams and looking them up is fun and sometimes insightful.

Usually being chased and falling means that something in your life is feeling out of your control.

Hmmmmm I was not scared of whoever was chasing me more just trying to get away.

I could get away from them but I was tyring to get as much distance as possible and they always seemed to catch up.

Very stressed at work and home life is not much better at the moment so I think it is due to that.

I used to have a recurring dream when I was a kid, I was being chased by this big wolf like creature that I new would capture people and eat there little toes.
In this dream no matter how fast I tried to run it was like I was in slow motion and I just could not move, I had to get down on the ground and pull myself along by grabbing the grass.

I had this dream for quite some years.

I don’t usually remember my dreams any more, because I talk in my sleep I’ve had to shut down my brain before I go to sleep so as not to release any information.

Perhaps this is why I don’t remember my dreams.

In fact I don’t really remember much of my childhood, I mean if you asked me what I did for my 10th Birthday I could not tell you.

    Strange indeed.

I don't recall my dreams either but when I do, I am always chasing someone, a bandit or robber etc but I can never catch them and when I try to yell "Stop Thief" or whatever, my mouth won't open and I can't say any words.... My wife wakes me up and says I am grunting.

    Thoughts?

I get the 'being chased' dream often and i am sure it relates to my anxiety - and i have lots of it. Have you something in life you are anxious over or maybe afraid of.

As for the falling dream i am sure that the astral body leaves the physical body by at least an inch when you sleep. When you are being drawn back into your body your conscious mind develops a scenario so you can cope with the sensation - so as not to frighten you, as this does damage (most disturbing). If you where aware of astral travel you would panic - so we get flying or falling dreams.

Have you ever been woken suddenly and felt very disturbed, even sick for an hour or so?? Well that is it.

Anyway back to your dream, i am prepared to bet that it happened just before waking? Thats when you are going back into your body.

I know for sure, if you eat meat, you'll get sick. It happened to me many times.
Please pay attention to your health.
    Cheers

May be you are dishonest with yourself about something. It is your Consciousness is talking to you. You are in your dream it is your consciousness and the thief it is you. You have to accept ‘what ever it is’ and yet, you are not admitting what ever it was. As soon, as you will accept it, admit your mistakes or fear, or whatever you were afraid of or hesitant. It is time to forgive your self or someone. You have to think deeply inside of yourself. I guess it makes sense.

Interesting fact that I do remember some dreams of my childhood but can't remember what I was dreaming last night. Nevertheless, in regards, of remembering your childhood. Just recently I was reviewing my photos from 3rd grade (late 70s) of primary school and I could recall every single person on the photo by their 1st name and surname, even remember some nicknames (34 pupils in the class). But I don't remember any of my mates of the university time (1990-1994) not even a face, their look. May be I can recall 2-3 people by they look but no NAMES I could recall. I guess our emotional state makes an impact on our memory, also our senses of smell, hearing, etc.. This is how we remember things even though they may look not so important to remember them but somehow we do remember due to some circumstances that make us to remember forever.
