    Dying?

    Who's afraid of it? ...

i had an experience last night.. whilst in the gym i bumped my head nothing bad just a little bump on the top of my head (it bloody hurt though lol)

and when i went to bed i couldnt sleep... i was thinking about a young man 21y/o in our local town who died xmas eve just gone due to an aneurysm from a cricket ball blow a week prior. he went to bed with a headache and told his parents he was tired... he never woke.

i was shitting myself last night thinking about this and was afraid to go to sleep. eventually i did and im here today lol but anyone else experience fears like this?

I'm not scared of "it" (the actual loss of life), but i'm terrified to leave my kids.

i worry about it, death scares me... i dont know if it itself scares me but the things that lead up to it do... if that makes sense. and also how quickly life can be taken, it is such a precious thing yet people always take it for granted.

Not scared, but really don't want to. I'm enjoying life.

I'm not overly philosophical about it, being a fact of life (all good things come to an end). Kid's at a young age is probably the only thing that niggles me.

But I tell you what, I'd be super pissed off if I was killed by the stupidity of others (like the f-wit that nearly took me out with his/her car this morning).

I'm bloody shit scared of aneurysms! They can just happen so suddenly out of the blue, and one unfortunately claimed my sister earlier this year. I also get paranoid after hitting my head, I know that feeling that you went through last night.

As for death? Shit yeah I'm scared of it. I don't wanna go yet! I'm still a young 'un with plenty more to do in this world and so much to see. My mission ain't over yet lol.

But I guess whatever happens happens...

Krom sorry to hear that mate. Must have been a big shock. Had she hit her head before or something?

Im not scared of death itself but how i might die worries me. I have this underlying feeling that I'll die in a car accident. Dont ask me why or how i feel this.

ps Krom, nice avatar mate. Is that a recent shot?

Krom. That's fucked up. I'm sorry.

Yep. I'm scared of it. Also, terrified to leave my children.

I remember watching my brother die and as he was in a coma for a day or so, he wasn't "fully" conscious of course, but would make pained groans and noises every now and again.

Just before he passed was the most sacred and peaceful thing I’ve seen - it was so peaceful, his last few breaths, very gentle. I remember thinking (this is crazy btw, forgive me but it was a crazy time and I wasn’t thinking straight) "wow, that looks easier than childbirth". I told you, silly huh.

I guess the pain factor really scares me also, and the idea of being hooked up to machines and confined in a hospital while dying. A big fear is the idea of the "oblivion". I don't believe in heaven or hell - I think that is what we create here on earth. I don't know what is beyond death, or what was beyond birth... If it's nothing, no consciousness whatsoever - that scares me.

Ontological anxiety is the terror that apparently all conscious beings have of being aware of their mortality. It has been said that much of our everyday anxieties and neurosis (personal and cultural) are merely a cover for this. Purely theoretical – I could blah about it for ages but wont. Phew, thank god. Point is, I do think it is normal have such fears.

Nah just partying on nye, drank heaps then next day was complaining of a headache then collapsed. Was in a coma for a few days before finally passing.

Yeah, I'm paranoid about car accidents too. Been in a couple of minor ones but they shook me up. Cars are so fragile. Doesn't help that there are many idiots (a couple of friends included) on the road who think their cars are just toys.

Haha thanks, that avatar shot was taken last week...

Yeh i too am scared of dying. i think we all are.

But i think of all the past life memories i have and remind myself that it is just another life. When i get it in that perspective then its just a matter of coming back to continue the work.

Worries me about my wife tho...... so i got life insurance. and i know the rest of my family will be sad too.

My evidence suggest we will all meet again anyhow. so that makes me feel better.

    Pete
