Im not scared of death. As ive already stated in this thread. Im also not kidding myself.

I touched a woman today who passed away earlier this morning. I put my hand on her forehead and said goodbye and thanked her for her lifes contribution (she was 99). She wasn't afraid to die. In fact, she embraced it. Not everyone is afraid and its wrong to assume that others are the same as us when it comes how we might feel about things.

I too, have thought not just about who would attend my funeral, but who would get the job of detailing my life. The one person who knows me the best, my ex, is someone I would not want to do it. So, I will make a video and tell my life story, warts and all, to the assembled "mourners".
    nice. very nice, rolf.

He's questioning how you know we just sleep when we die..

We could be spirits in this world and still roam?

Well...some people speak in their sleep. They also laugh and some even eat. Lots of things happen when you sleep. But now I understand, you were just expressing your belief in regards to dying.

Jaiman, sometimes you need to know when it's time to let go of your kids. As a parent you bring them up and you try and impart your beliefs and then you hope they will do ok. You can't always be there for your kids, but the teachings you passed onto them will always be there (even though they may reject them or supress them sometimes, there were times when I also wish I listened to my parents).

I guess I tend to think every human being has a certain amount of fear about dying, to a greater or lesser extent. Some people seem to be better able to handle that fear though.....

I think your own death is the easy part. The hard part is the death of your loved ones (or your death on your loved ones). That worries me each and every night far more than my own death to me.

I went and saw a local wine maker speak on the weekend and he had recently been in a motorbike accident - 8 ribs broken, puctured lungs, liver, etc. He had the full light at the end of the tunnel and out of body experience. He's fully convinced there's something out there now and is not scared of death (although I think he still wants to experience quite a few more vintages!).

My daughters father nearly lost his life twice to cancer (hes in a high risk cat now) and hes not afraid of dying at all. Hes very matter of fact about it and reckons when it happens it happens.
