I don't see how we can go to hell when our all forgiving God forgives us of our evil.

We create our own personal heaven and hell whilst here on earth. That is my belief. Shoot me down as you see fit.

I take a Christian/Buddhist/Science approach.... when you die assuming something remains which cannot be scientifically measured, it could be a subatomic rythm - shaped by your life's choices and experiances... I'd call this your soul = like a ripple in an ocean (these are the days of our lives hehe) if it is a pattern that is complimentary to the ocean's overall pattern then it survives... if it is not it is beaten down and destroyed. In that context I consider heaven the state of your soul suriving, and hell the final destruction of your self through the extinguishing of your soul.

This then excludes that God is an individual making choices, but rather the collective of all lifeforms that have been condusive to creation/life/expansion/survival. Most bad things are generally selfish and counter productive so it fits that good would be a requirement to get into heaven. Given that humanity perceives this 'spiritual dimension', notably though through human experiances and terms of reference, that rebirth/reincarnation is perhaps plausible in this model if life itself is a mechanism of sensitivty that these patterns can be expressed through... which also explains how some people percieve that spiritual dimension. I do though find it difficult to believe that consciouness and memories could survive within the soul without the body, buts its possible that the complexity of the soul itself represents such computational power that any interaction between a soul and a living person might allow the person to think they are talking with the real person when in fact its more a memory of past interactions responding to the current reality.

    Simple as that really!?

I've read many stories and reports from people saying they died breifly due to illness/accident and when they were brought back to life the majority said that they were looking down on their body from a distance whilst being drawn to a light, I think ones soul may well continue in another life form.

    The wonderment of nature

    Hell...

funny that.. i wonder if this is really is stated in the bible and if the translators actually got it right. Seems to me that christianity is all about forgiveness - yet we send the sinners to hell - where we're meant to burn forever..

    Sounds about right.

Its supposed to be Union. Doesn't always seem that way. SOME (no i am not pointing at anyone here) seem hellbent (love the pun) on passing unforgiving judgement on others.

    also,

who is to say there is good or evil. I mean greed, anger, jealousy, happiness, forgiveness, love, hate etc are all built into our body through instinct. What makes one wrong from the other? Who is to say that one man points out what right and wrong is? Who knows how many different religions there are and what their different views of right and wrong.

Women 'A' has an abortion - she has no religion or her religion accepts abortion. Women "b" looks upon her and thinks that women "a" will be going to hell. Doesn;t make sense - does women 'b' 's religion win over women 'a' 's religion?

Complete bullshit if you want my opinion.

I dont know what i believe in - possibly in Karma - I wont do anything wrong to someone else unless i believe it to be justified. Sometimes certain things happen in life and you cannot help that someones up there moving their magic wand upon us all - maybe this thought that is so prevalent among us all is what created religion in the first place - but i think it has been abused to control a lot of people and their own beliefs.
