Hi
I am in Melbourne CBD this week. Is there any type of exercise I can casually join in with? in the parks etc?
Boot camp?
Strength training?
Lap swimming in CBD?

Um I don't know. Theres obviously gyms in the area. Theres the bay to swim in. Albert park and the botanical gardens arent far - both good places to run. Theres also a rock climbing joint in the city.

Everyone in the pictures has a smile on the face and is enjoying themself. Which means its probably shit. No one in my bootcamp has smiles on their face, they're too busy gasping for air.
Theres an outdoor gym in elwood park in opposite tiuna gr/bendigo ave, and after your finished you can jump into the bay for a swim!![]()
Thanks guys, I actually used a few parks for some jogging and sprints, the hotel had a pool ( well indoor anyhow) so did a few laps which also worked out well.
I will check out the outdoor gym in a few weeks when i return..
cheers
When I lived in Melbourne last time and took the tram home every afternoon I used to see a running group every day or so at the gardens, and they did other exercises too (body resistance) so not sure if it was a club or just friends putting something together.

If your in The CBD, take a jog or cycle down the yarra via Birrawong Mar towards Richmond, around the Burnley tunnel area there is a free to public rock climbing set-up under one of the bridges, its heaps of fun and quite challenging for novices. It will give you a chance to recover for the run back into town ;)
"Albert park and the botanical gardens arent far - both good places to run. Theres also a rock climbing joint in the city" find it @ (The Hardrock Climbing Company Pty Ltd) in Rusell st.
I actually ran around the botanical gardens last visit, at 6.00am there were crowds of runners!!
Rockclimbing wall sounds great, next trip I will check it out.
A lot of people use the Tan Track too :)

There is an annoying all female group exercise class at 6am on Domain Rd (just off St. Kilda Rd) that take up all the "all day" car parks when I need to park there for work!
A bit chilly this time of year though, ill stick to the gym.
instead of being annoyed, why dont u just enjoy the view Gav?! hehe
but chilly I agree with. Its 14 degrees up here in Toowoomba, and I hear its 13 today in Melbs
