    Outdoor exercise in Melbourne CBD

    Hi

I am in Melbourne CBD this week. Is there any type of exercise I can casually join in with? in the parks etc?

    Boot camp?
    Strength training?
    Lap swimming in CBD?

    cheers

Um I don't know. Theres obviously gyms in the area. Theres the bay to swim in. Albert park and the botanical gardens arent far - both good places to run. Theres also a rock climbing joint in the city.

Gymlink Bootcamp free session form - Fitstyler

Everyone in the pictures has a smile on the face and is enjoying themself. Which means its probably shit. No one in my bootcamp has smiles on their face, they're too busy gasping for air.

Thanks guys, I actually used a few parks for some jogging and sprints, the hotel had a pool ( well indoor anyhow) so did a few laps which also worked out well.

I will check out the outdoor gym in a few weeks when i return..

    cheers

When I lived in Melbourne last time and took the tram home every afternoon I used to see a running group every day or so at the gardens, and they did other exercises too (body resistance) so not sure if it was a club or just friends putting something together.

If your in The CBD, take a jog or cycle down the yarra via Birrawong Mar towards Richmond, around the Burnley tunnel area there is a free to public rock climbing set-up under one of the bridges, its heaps of fun and quite challenging for novices. It will give you a chance to recover for the run back into town ;)

There is an annoying all female group exercise class at 6am on Domain Rd (just off St. Kilda Rd) that take up all the "all day" car parks when I need to park there for work!

A bit chilly this time of year though, ill stick to the gym.
