Good Quality Weight Plates -Where to Buy?

Does any one know where to buy good qulaity weight plates, im not a huge fan of rubber ones i prefer straight metal.

Something like Ivanko not so much the calibrated ones but their normal range of non rubber but not ivanko i cant warrant paying 6+$per kg for a weight plate.

I used to get weight plates for $1 per kilo from SMAI, don't know how much they are now though.

Everywhere it looks to be $2.80 - $3.50 per kilo. That's nuts.

Kmart sell them for $2.60/kg. I like that they have handles especially with 10kg+. It's just cast iron painted black with the cutouts to make handles.

What do you mean by good quality?

Hart Sport here in Brisbane are pretty reasonable. Not sure how much freight would be though.

One of the gyms I train with has some, I have noticed they vary slightly in diameter (I guess by <10mm, but is noticable when on a bar together). I am not sure how they would go on a scale, but I imagine all weight plates would be +/- a surprising amount. If this is an issue, then simply weigh the plates on a calibrated scale and write the correct weight on them.

So many places out there to choose from these days. I bought my stuff from little bloke fitness in Coburg - round the corner from me.

New EZ lift hammertone plates at $2.50kg. They also sell used equipment (not sure of prices on used plates tho), they have a reasonable range. Worth checking out.
