The Force: RBT. I need to Vent.

Ok, so i'm sitting at home flicking through channels deciding which stupid reality show can i watch because there's nothing else on.

RBT caught my eye. A bunch of blokes in a uniform blowing people (so to speak, no punt intended,) hey why not? Ok, for anyone who hasn't picked it up. It's a show about Random Breath Testing.

Now don't get me wrong. I really enjoyed watching the previous Force when they were catching people and running around doing what police do. Didn't mind that Investigation Australia either with the various murder cases.

Seriously. What a joke. A whole punch of people rocking up in a line to get alcohol or drug tested. Will this person be THE ONE over the limit?

Anyhow, as i was falling asleep, i heard a solid siren. Alas, the police were in a half baked pursuit. I started to get excited. That all faded when i the car in pursuit was doing about 25km/hr and stopped.

Am i the only one who thinks reality TV is getting worse?

Please, I'm interested in your thoughts...lol

LoL, yeah what a crap idea. Next will be a show about those lonely coppers who sit in those mobile speed camera vans.
I just saw my parents having sex, that's the last time I visit that website.

Maybe it is sending a message to drivers, considering the young kid who drove his Ford off the side of the road and into a tree, nearly killing himself.

That was the 3rd person in a night that they, the police or pigs like some of u call them, had to pull a body from a car.

And over the guys carear he did not deny pulling dead life-less bodies out of cars. Morale of the story is if there was more designated drivers this would
be such of a lesser of a problem.

I personally think there needs to be more RBT's everywhere and less speed cameras and no RBT Shows on televison.

Couldn't agree more. RBT is random though. The thing is, general duties police 9the guys who attend all the triple 0 jobs and others) are so busy answering hoax calls, neighbour disputes, domestics, and stupid other jobs, it hardly leaves time to do RBT. Hwy patrol do as much as they can but they too are busy running around trying to assist in doing those first response jobs that the other cops are meant to be doing.

When RBT finally does happen, this is generally what happens:

You start off with say 10 ppl on the roadside. 3 are taken out. 1 to scribe rego plates, 1 to pull em in, and 1 to supervise and do continuous risk management. That leaves 7. Hypothetically, 100 cars are brought in at random. Say 3 drivers are tested positive. That pretty much wipes out most of the crew cause they have to take the driver back. Each driver must have 2 police for risk reasons.with them, including someone who is authorised to peform the breath analysis back at the station. That leaves 1 person on the roadside and boom. RBT is packed up. Keep in mind, that other jobs are happening at this time including fatal accidents, people trying to top themselves, and other siren jobs.

I totally concur with you. RBT, and High visibility police is better than any mobile cameraestimated to make $137 million and owned by a Banking Industry (see aily Telegraph Sunday that just passed.) Oh, and those mobile cameras are being conducted by RTA contractors, not police.
