Its good to see boxing on free to air, the hoppa fight certainly is a decent one, but MMA sounds even better
Yeh I saw the first week and was really excited. And it was the Billy Dib fight (debacle actually) - turned me off it to be honest. Haven't tuned back in.
The commentating is shocking but there have been some really good fights, Billy Dib is a joke, and has embarrased Australian Boxing with his antics(not just this one fight), nearly as bad as the Elomar's (who started a massive brawl up at the central coast). Im pretty sure later in the series there are some even more talented boxers but the names elude me.

The girls fight was by far the best fight of the night.
Very fit, very good technical boxing from the winner! Made everyone on that card look like bums, thats saying something!
I enjoyed the first fight, and the womens fight the most. There were some famous faces in the corners for some of the fights like Paul Briggs ( Pleassssse channel 10 make him a commentator, at the moment i would rather keep it on mute). Also in the girls fight Parr's husband was the cornerman Australias greatest Muay Thai fighter. In the end it was a pretty shit fightcard, and i now remember why i never watch Heavyweights.
that was possibly the worst fight ive seen in years, I cant believe the mediocre level of australian heavy weights if hoppa is our best, it didnt even look like he prepared for the fight, he's gone fat since his american fight.
Mirovic should retire the guy just embarrased himself out there, buy the 5th round he was puffed.
Even the ref said to them "cmon guys this is ridiculous" cos they both kept falling on eachother.

Yeh after giving Superboxer a miss after the Billy Dib thing - to then tune in last night to see two heavyweights cuddle for 10 rounds.......my opinion of superboxer hasn't changed!
The Jed Omahoney (?name) fight was super, the ladies fight was great, Ben Edwards was very exciting - but he fought a guy who took the fight on short notice and it was ended in the 1st.
So there are encouraging signs for Australian Boxing - but Superboxer needs to stop with the gimmick main events to gain some credit IMO.

The Irish dude has got some fight about him but his hands were down most of the time and if he fights someone decent he will get his head knocked offff !!! but he did have quiet good hand speed.

I watched it with my flatmate, he's an amateur boxer with 1-0-0 record. He was absolutely disgusted.
ATM he's training hard, trying to get down to 71-72kg. He's like a little Tyson.
Personally, i wouldn't do boxing, i'd do MMA. But atm i work fulltime night shift, 8pm - 8am, 4x a week. I can't make any classes and wouldn't fight unless i was very good and confident i'd be able to hold my own.
Can't wait to do 9-5pm day job. Then i can gym and train mma.
On another note... Hoppa doesn't have a job. He's a full time boxer. Thats why its such a disgrace that someone who has all the time in the world, can't even control their weight, let alone energy for more than 2 rounds. Both fighters were gassed in the first round after 2 minutes... Tall guy should have used his 25cm reach and boxed from outside, but its his own fault he didn't even attempt to box, he clinched just as much as hoppa.
Both fighters didn't listen to their corner either...
