    If you won 5 Million

    I am pretty sure everyone at some stage or another has had the millionaire conversation.
    I was listening to someone on the weekend talking about it and found it rather amusing.
    I'm curious to know what you would do if you were given 5 Million in cold hard cash? - ( AUD & tax free)

    Would it change your life?
    Would you keep training?
    Would you change jobs or partners etc ?
    Would you get cosmetic surgery?
    Would you move?
    Would you tell your friends?

    So many variables.. whats your take on that kind of cash?

    Not sure, its too hypothetical for me lol.

    Ok, i'd buy a place. Apartment and house. Rent one live in the other.

    Possibly look at buying a business... But i know i couldn't retire, i don't have the self motivation for that, i'd just sleep all day.

    Other than that, not much would really change... Except i wouldn't get depressed around x-mas time lol, cause i'd get family/friends rather good pressies and wouldn't give a shit that i got nothing in return

    Yes it would change my life
    Yes Id keep training (Id buy a gym and give it to someone else to run)
    I would ditch my job and continue to study. maybe
    I don't have a partner really so maybe i could buy one lol
    don't know about cosmetic surgery.
    No I wouldn't move but id bulldoze this house and start afresh.
    I would share some with my friends. Some of my mates have gone through hardships through no fault of their own

    hmmmm, to be honest I have thought about this a lot or I should say day dreamt a lot.

    Anywho, some of the stuff I would do:

    The first thing I'd do is build my dream home.

    I would quit my 'real' job but continue to work at footy because I actually really enjoy it.

    I wouldn't tell my friends or others because I wouldn't want to hear everyones sob stories & I don't want anyone dognapping my dogs for a ransom. My immediate family would be a different story though, I'd tell them.

    I'd also love to volunteer at RSPCA playing with the puppies and kittens.

    I wouldn't spend it on totally ridiculous stuff. Just continue to live a relatively normal lifestyle but being able to do a few things I can't now.

    BTW, I'd open a tab at the local plastic surgeons.

    Get my boobs put back where they should be so they're nice and perky

    One of my eyebrows is slightly higher than the other so get that fixed. No-one notices but I know so it shits me.

    I'd also get a shitload of laser hair removal so I'd never have to wax again (the moustache wax people might go out of business though )

    1) Of course hopefully for the better
    2) Yes without a doubt
    3) Been very lucky to have been with my partner for 20 years(married for 15) and have two most beautiful daughters, so i would hng onto her, or perhaps she woyld trade me in LOL
    4) I would keep working, but would choose the jobs i take on.
    5) No, unless it was a penis extension
    6) Not until my daughters finished school
    7) probably not, but would try and help my family and friends out behind the scenes.

    Good question, why RAzz you giving away $5mil?

    ok first off i would pay off my parents mortgage and my own, then i would build myself a nice biggish house, nothing too flash, 4 bedroom, 1 study and a room for my gym equipment. i would try to still live as modest as possible, i would tell only famiy, and just rndomly buy my closest friend the car he has always wanted. i would also actually gve my parents som money for them to retire comfortabley on as they wouldnt need to pay their house anymore. i would travel to europe for a bit, and the rest of the money i would donte some to a few charities that i think deserve it, and the rest i would put into savings. i have not really ever though too greatly into this, but i do know i wouldnt let it get to my head. i would how ever still work an easy job and quit my current job.

    It's not enough to do what I would like but it would be a good starting point. I would set up a system that would pay for air fares for doctors and nurses to live in remote areas for short periods of time. This would include shipping mini operating theaters so that they could perform basic services such as innoculations, eye surgery, skin grafts, cleft palette surgery, etc.

    Come on, if you have visited anywhere below the poverty line you will know that buying a 5 bedroom house and a sports car is a frustrating, unsatisfying exercise in self deception. While not an avid watcher of TV game shows, I have seen a few and I have never, ever, ever heard anyone say that they would use the money for anything beyond their own selfish pointless desires.

    With that rant out of the way, I would probably buy myself a new coffee machine as a reward.

    Call me boring, no flash cars or toys for me.

    I'd use 3 million to buy 6 million of residential property leveraged at 50%, so easily cashflow positive.
    I'd use 1 million to build/develop a couple more duplexes.
    And the other million put into the depressed sharemarket which is a long term hold.

    All this will generate even more cashflow and capital growth.

    Apart from that, would keep working in my own business for now, until I am totally over it.
    Would keep training as usual.
    Would not change my life much at all, until I take some more time off for holidays/lesure.
    Would not tell friends, and dont show off right now anyways, so a few more million won't change that.

    Will never retire.
    Will always be planning/operating some sort of business.

    I have 3 documented plans for Lotto wins of $5, 10, and 15 million.

    They are all a combination of:
    Family debt elimination;
    Housing for my children and myself;
    Establishing Educational Scholarships and Trusts at my children's former schools
    Establishing a Trust to provide money for community projects;
    The production of a series of television programs;
    Superannuation contribution.

    Should I win $15 million or greater, then I would establish a "resort" styled fitness/bodybuilding contest preparation centre, heavily subsidised, where people could come and stay for X weeks to focus on a "cycle", a new program, or get ready for a contest, allowing for 100% focus, and 100% support.

    Cheers

    Cheers

    I think that much cash would change most normal peoples lives.

    I'd invest in property and cash accounts, which in both my partners name and mine, we would make a modest income to never have to work again, it would allow us to also buy a mansion on Bali's north east coast near Candi Dasa, quite a perfect region. And train full time using that as my base while running our small fun businesses as it's what we love to do. We would have the security of being able to return home at any time.

    ...so to answer your questions...

    Yes - Move in a different direction.. pay off debts
    Yes - It's within the new direction.
    Yes - Job not Partner
    Maybee
    Yes - I'd move to Bali
    Yes - I'd need friends to visit me occasinaly.
