The media using the term "bodybuilder" was the big selling point! It strikes fear into the general public! Thus getting their attention!![]()
From what I have heard she likes to run and plays loads of sport and the mother will not let her do weights! so it looks like a normal young girl who likes to run and play like most! this time she has tried to do some thing a little different!
could be worse!
Whats so risky and unhealthly about a BB life anyway do people imeadently think she is on steroids or something when the word bodybuilding is mentioned, even if she did lift weights who cares these people need to get a life and stop critising everything they see....
Bloody Journo's
Take 2. Fair comment & i agree with what you said. I sincerely hope that the amount of kids at that age is VERY VERY VERY minimal and rare.
there is something about bone development for the young ones but i don't know anything about it really.
Oh come - on at 10 years of age, she is just a kid. Shame on her parents.
Good on her parents. Yay. ;-)
Better than sitting at home on the wii, or on the internet, or meeting boys at the movies, or getting fat off the wrong types of foods.
Here Here Raaqi.
Spot on. Top stuff.
Personally I think the only reason this is in the news is due to the focus on paedophelia in the media at the moment.
A 10 year old wearing a bikini does not mean she is being sexualised, I know I wore a bikini when I was a kid and it had everything to do with liking the pretty colour of it not showing off my lady/girly lumps.
I think the media needs to stop bringing about hype and negative attention where it is not needed, by chastising this 10 year old on national television they are doing far more damage to her mental state than any competition.
Good on her and her mum for being active, I do hope she's not doing heavy weights and causing growth problems and to be honest she doesn't really belong in an adult competition but I still don't think it required Australia wide news coverage.
Or she might rebell and become a junkie...
I only just got to read the Herald Sun article today and had to chuckle.... On page 4 was this young girl who looked absolutely no different to me (and to most 10 year old girls back in my day) and we were considered nothing but healthy. We were lean as, and played every sport that was on offer and even the ones the boys did - and that was normal. But when you compare her to most 10 year olds now - she may well look emancipated!
The bit that tickled my fancy was this clearly one sided HS report about how she is displaying herself and doing too much and blah blah, yet 4 pages on there was a big article on how school kids are getting fatter because they dont exercise enough!!!! That would have been a nice little juxtaposition...
I have one of these normal muffin top, white tights, ug boot wearing youth & no amount of encouragement from me has managed to get her remotely interested in fitness. It frustrates me to no end, we have a house FULL of fitness equipement.
So even if this ten yr old is not interested in fitness (& it looks to me like she is loving it) then congrats to the parents for not allowing their daughter to become a couch potatoe.
I wish i knew their secret.
