Watched the expendables last night.
good movie for shiz
Already wanted to go see Expendables so now doubly looking forward to it. Also wanted to see Inception, although think it may have finished screening here now, but from the trailers, I can imagine it would have looked really good on one of those imax screens.
We watched "Tomorrow When the War Began" last friday, wasnt bad, sort of a teenage chick flick that has some action scenes, although the funniest bit for me wasnt actually part of the movie, being the second day of its release, there was a cinema with a variety of ages viewing it, but majority were teens. One group had a younger male sibling with them and after a huge suspenseful scene that closes with a mass explosion and violent destruction, the movie goes silent for a full second. However the younger male sibling, sitting somewhere at the front of the theater did that whole massive intake of breath and then lets out with a loud "AWESOME!", all of which was audible to everyone due to the silence on screen and everyone else holding their breath in suspense. Had the entire audience giggling.
Like any other movie, it wasnt as good as the book (and it says so itself in one of the scenes), but if you have a preteen that you want to encourage to read more, get them hooked, the movie could easily lead into them devouring the book series.
A Dolphin is sleek & graceful, yet brutally strong & efficient. This is my goal! Dollfinn!
Little Fockers
The Other Guys
Classic Will Ferrel! Watched this lastnight.
I doubt they give this guy a script to go off.
If you're a fan of Will Ferrel comedies, this one will fit right in there as one of his good ones.
He plays the goody goody cop and his partner just wants to take things to the edge and gets frustrated when he won't push the boundries in his job.
There are too many random crack up scenes to mention or to even remember. I have to watch it again.
I'm going to spoil a scene in the movie here, but I don't care, there are so many more scenes like it that it wouldn't matter (you don't have to watch it if you're going to see it soon). I thought it was one of the best comebacks anyone has had, lol. Cinema was in stitches.
Actual bit i'm talking about starts @ 1.32:
Little Fockers looks great!
I refuse to watch the spoiler video of The Other Guys as I am seeing it this weekend.

This looks wicked! I think it comes out in November.

haha... watched it last night... was about to comment on it... it's pretty good gave but as usual they leave it open for another one... not much of a spoiler...
the funny thing is i saw it in italian(i'm in italy at the moment)... haha... pissed myself laughing when i heard them swear....
worth a watch if you liked the first 3...
wondering if i watched the expendables in italian, would it ruin the movie??
also considering watching the new freddy krugger movie in italian.. i reckon it'll be good for a laugh..
good find mo.def keen to see this one on the big screen.
Just watched 'The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas' and 'District 9'. I knew that the boy was about the holocaust but was surprised by the ending.
District 9 had me surprised though as I had no idea what the movie was about - I had assumed it was another alien invasion movie. Highlighting social segregation and xenophobia in a mockumentary but using aliens instead of black & white during the aparthetid era in the 80s. Even giving the alien race a derogatory name of prawns. It shows humans need to dominate another race at all costs. It'll be interesting to see if there's a follow on from it.
