Some people saying because it did poorly in the US and other's because of the sex scene (this one's pretty full on compared to part 1 - like a porno) and the violence.

I think it's because of the later because it only just came out in US not long ago so they wouldn't know a final figure at the box office.

If you like part 1, you'll love this. That's all you need to know to go see it.

*edit - just noticed ezydvd.com.au are taking orders for it now released in Novemeber '09.
Thanks for the update MO, much appreciated!

I'll keep an eye out for it on DVD!

    What about inglourious basterds?

Saw District 9 last night. What a great movie and agree with nearly all the previous comments. Fantastic script, effects, themes, etc. Had the lot. Not such subtle comments on racism, terrorism, de-personalisation of an ememy and humanities often illogical lust for power. 8/10 for me. And yes, made for $30m with the effects being done by Peter Jackson's NZ company.

Compare to GI Joe which cost $130m from memory and was crap. Stupid, stupid, stupid. And worse, they've set it up for a sequal. 2/10.

Also watched "Let the Right One In" on Friday night. If you like Vampire movies, this it the bomb. Its swedish. Dark, violent but deep and emotional as well, it is everything that twilight wasn't. It's about the bond between a disturbed 12 yo boy who is regularly beaten at school and a 12 yo 'girl' who moves in next day. So beatifully filmed, its quite breathtaking at times. 9/10.

And finally, The Internationalist. Waste of time. Why is there always these all powerful banks who are run by just five creeps but the apparently they are supported by all the major governments and businesses of the world? Stupid, annoying shoot out scene. I can never decide whether I like Clive Owen or not and Naomi Watts was a total let down. 3/10.

    Excellent!
True story of John Dillenger back in the 1930's, a man who robbed bank's.
Scene's were shot in the same locations and prison cell's that once held the man.
Top movie, Johnny Depp is untouchable with whatever role he play's.

He was on Letterman the other night promoting it but can't find a full clip of the interview. Great interview, top guy.

Really looking forward to his next one, Alice In Wonderland where it look's like he will play a similar character to Willy Wonka as the Mad Hatter.
watched this movie, and considering its based on a true story, its one story that makes you wan tto go back in time and see it all happening,

johnny depp played an awesome role ,whichever scene hes in he doesnt show no hesitation, just straight out,

this def is a 10/10 for me and now dying to see the taking of pelham 123,

    X 2

Loved District 9. It's even more impressive knowing it was made on a (relatively) low budget.

GI sucked big time. I felt like walking out after 5mins in. Only saving point was a couple of the chicks... for some reason they never looked that good when I was in the Army....

Agreed...GI was just another self-appreciating masturbatory yank movie.

Seeing District 9 this w/end. Thanks for the reviews guys and gals. Also going to see Tarantino's "Basterds". Love Tarantino overkill...
Winners make it happen...losers let it happen.

just read an article on the new batman movie,

"Next Batman Movie to be Fully Shot in IMAX?

    Source:Ain't It Cool News August 25, 2009

Ain't It Cool News has posted an interesting rumor saying that Christopher Nolan and Warner Bros. Pictures could be planning to shoot the follow-up to The Dark Knight completely in IMAX format:

The THIRD chapter of Christopher Nolan's Caped Crusader's saga could very well be FULLY shot in IMAX, not IMAX Digital - but the beautiful, stunning IMAX that we saw pieces of THE DARK KNIGHT in.

Now this is something that I'm sure a lot of you will feel is a no-brainer. Nolan blew us away with the IMAX sequences in that film - but it was a very tough process to work in. Mainly due to the limitations of how many available real IMAX rigs there are. Not only that, but lenses had to be created, adapted and god forbid one broke down. Part of the reason that Nolan went forward with INCEPTION first - besides taking a creative break from the cape and cowl adventures... was possibly to create a few new IMAX cameras made to his specs. Once again - the cost of shooting an entire feature film on IMAX... the stock, the time it takes to reset, to load, to move the cameras... Well... it is daunting, but as Nolan proved with DARK KNIGHT - the difference is stunning.

We'll have to wait and see if this does indeed happen
    ."

i was spewing i never got a chance to see the dark knight at the imax... did anyone get to see it at imax??

Nope, but I saw spiderman 3 at Imax darling harbor. You can't imagine how much I wanted my $25.00 back.

Saw Inglourious Basterds today. Another QT masterpiece. Loved the Jew Hunter character, exactly what I imagine an SS officer too be. Typically exquisite Tarantino dialogue. I could knit pick about the ending being slightly anti climactic & how the most exciting action sequence (at the conclusion of the bar scene) was over in a blink of an eye. But I won't. This film is war porn for Jews'. 4 1/2 stars.

i must say, rocky has always been one fo my most inspirational movies, just some of the quotes he makes in the movies are very touchy, especially in part 6,

does anyone know if there will be another rocky?or is the expandables his last movie before retiring?

Word's from his own mouth is that Rocky is well and truley OVER.
He even joked about it saying something along the line's of, who wants to see a guy in his late 60's making a comeback, it's not realistic. He was even acting it out, like how long it would take to swing a punch, lol.

Rambo, however is a different story.
    Stay tuned for that.
I think this will be his finishing act.
It's in production - i made a post not long ago on it.
