There was no story, just a sad attampt at cheap shocks and laughs. Made me feel sorry for the gay community. He lost all my respect after this one. And i was such an Ali G fan too.......
I saw Bruno the other day. I went in not expecting too much - I thought if it was half as funny as Borat I'd be happy. But I'd have to say it's the worst movie I've seen so far this year. I thought his Bruno's interview with Rove was better than the film...

I thought the gay community would be quite offended by Bruno, but I seen an interview on TV with a few members of a gay community club and surprisingly they said that the majority of gay people had no problem with the film. Basically they were saying "if you can't laugh at yourself, who can you laugh at?"

I thought they'd be offended too but i'm assuming its because in Australia at least there isn't much intolerance against gays in the younger generation (cities at least) so they probably feel less threatened by the stereotyping. Not sure if their attitudes in Texas for eg would be the same.

    Could be wrong

Yea i had advanced screening to bruno and was not impressed to say the least i walked out thinking wtf did i just watch.

pretty much the only funny parts in it were the ones played in the trailer so that made it even shiter.

I hate it when movies are like that i've herd it's the same for the hangover.

yeh thought thick as thieves was a good movie too...

saw push the other night... it was ok... 6/10... i guess i liked the fact that it sorta kept you guessing tll the end... a confusing movie if you dont watch the movie from begining to end...

also just finished watching bedtime stories.. not one of adam sandlers best movies and have to say more of a kids movie then the rest of his films... i enjoyed it, thought some parts were funny.. 5.5/10... Adam Sandler just isnt as funny as he used to be... older movies are awesome... hoping his new movie, think its called happy people looks funny... hope it doesnt turn out to be a flop... few actors in it, incl. our own Eric Banner..

watched "mr troop mom" with george lopez, must say, definiately not my type of movie, its more of a kids movie, more on the girlie side too,

then watched "shade",its a film from back in 2003 but havent seen it till last night, must say,i loved it,im not a fan of poker movies but this one is mind blowing, sylvester stallone is in it too, awesome role he plays,

and finally, watched "ghosts of girfriends past",this is a typical comedy romance about a guy who plays around with women until he gets haunted by his past girfriends and finally makes him open his eyes and realise that there is love out there,

me not been a big fan of films like that,i didnt really mind it,

Seen the new Harry Potter film yesterday. I felt there was too much drama, not enough action. It is a looooong movie and there is basically no decent action scenes - but somehow it still managed to keep me interested. 6/10

Also watched "He's Just Not That Into You". Chick flick/romantic comedy. Makes me realise how lucky I am to have a girlfriend like mine, so many fuct up chicks out there... It was quite entertaining, and each of the characters got what they deserved in the end. Similar to "Love Actually". PS. Scarlette is smokin hot....

Gav, I agree with your comments 100% with HP. It really just plodded along - beautifully filmed and showed great activity, but too much drama (teenage romance angst) and not enough action. It started ok and ended ok but nothing inbetween.

I really dug Bruno. Not for all tastes but i can see the deeper side of his humor. Every situation he put hime self in was to show different peoples reactions to homosexuality and their own sexuality.

His stuff is very well thought out, but can just as easliy be seen as crass and vulgar, i guess its in how you view it.

heres the ones i can remember of the top of my head.

gay men with children (interracial children at that)
Christian attitudes to homosexuality and gay conversion
Straight attitudes to homosexuality and especially overt masculinity (the UFC cage fight, whihc was hilarious)
    Peace in the middle east!
Child actors and the crazy parents behind them

again i fully understand it would not be for everyone, but i could not stop laughing.

watched streets of blood tonight... Val Kilmer, 50 Cent, Sharon Stone.. typical straight to dvd maybe even just normal tv... ended up getting bored through it... acting was pretty bad... and not much of a story line... give it a 3.5/10...

Val Kilmer really annoys me for whatever reason. There is a gross smugness to his acting he struggles to shake. I have liked very few of his films.

Sharon Stone alas is suffering from the inevitable consequence of ageing of a "bombshell actor".

yeh his voice was really annoying along with sharon stone's voice in this.. they tried to put on the new orleands accent.. didnt work... and 50 cent sounded like he normally does.. dont think he can do any other voices then his own...
