But I guess we all have different tastes, and maybe I'm more easily entertained than some. Although I see Union thought very highly of 'The Proposal', where I thought it was pretty average - even for a chick flick...
i agree with you gav.. i thought it was an awesome movie... and the special effects were done well... the fight scenes were awesome...

I rate the first one as being better but this one isnt far off and shows more of the transformers which is what the movie is ment to be about...

honestly if it didnt have so much action in it i wouldnt have been able to sit through it.. also meagan fox made my night.. she is gorgeous... 8.5/10... almost a 9...

i guess everyone thinks differently.. like with terminator thought it was awesome... and self explainitory(spelling).. (ie john connor's dad "Kyle Reese") if you watched all the movies wouldnt be hard to put the peices together... just a question that i've heard from several people since it's been out...

also saw hangover... wasnt too bad... the pictures at the end make it worth sitting though and seeing tyson knock that guy out lol... some funny scenes in it... and some scene that make you say wtf... 7/10

    Why I didn't like TRANS2 (CONTAINS SPOILERS)

It was full of bad fart & ball jokes: Chihuahua mounting a pug two times in five minutes. Comedy sidekick gangsta-wannabe robots (golden teeth and stuff, yo). Fire-farting robot trying to hump the leg of Megan Fox. Senior transformer with a crutch, farting parachutes. "Enemy nutsack sighted!" yelled during the close-up of two huge robotic balls swinging in the air. Or how about the part where Megan Fox falls from the sky and lands face down on Sam's crotch.

Mom's craziness was sort of funny on the first movie and the first 30 seconds in this movie were sort of okay, but when the hash cookie scene extended for 5 minutes I seriously wanted a Decepticon to come and blow her head off.

The dialogue was a cliche salad, seriously, did the villains really just say, "This isn't over!". And did the cantankerous veteran robot really just say, "I'm getting too old for this crap?"

The plot was shallow as a puddle of urine; they need to get what to save what from who? Couldn't they come up with anything better then the Decepticons plan to destroy the sun. Why would they do such a thing? Well they have a machine that can harvest energy from the sun at the cost of destroying it. Would a solar panel be so hard to figure out if you've mastered space travel?

The hot blond that turned out to be a Decepticon was a stupid addition to the plot. Firstly I didn't know that Decepticons could replicate a human to the point of being able to touch it & kiss it & still not know that it's made of metal. And why would the Decepticons send one of their own disguised as a girl to attend college parties and classes only to seduce Sam when their objective is to capture him, get the info and then kill him?

And how about the death & resurrection of Sam. WTF after being blown up & killed he promptly reanimates having talked to some robot Gods.

There was no sense of time in this film, one big event would end & another big event would start immediately. There was no sense that one scene had any real impact on the next scene.

Was it just me or did the original Primes look a lot like Sauron's helmet from LOTR's?

They barely introduced any of the new autobots. The best character in the franchise is Optimus & he was left out of most of the film. The bits with Optimus in it were the best.

    There's more but I couldn't be arsed.

I just watched Angels & Demons and quite enjoyed it, wouldn't say it's worth watching it in the movies but deffinately on dvd. It was much better than Da Vinci Code which i thought was crap.

    Word for word, Tranquilo!
Humour and a story line aimed at 15-18 year olds.
It was embarrassing for the most part.

Power Rangers meets the O.C meets the corny jokes of morning kids TV!

Again, no argument over the brilliant special effects although some close ups of fight scenes or of a robot transforming were just too hard to make out between being too close up and overly fast camera scanning at the range it was filmed at.

That age group spends more on movies than any other age group, so of course they would be targetted.

Tranquilo, I think some of your fair comments. Personally I go to the cinemas to relax and be entertained, not to nit-pick and criticise. I think you went in expecting too much.

EVERYTHING about the whole "Transformers" concept is corny. From the good robots who care about humans and other races, the way Bumble Bee talks through the radio (if he got damaged, then get fixed FFS), to the corny jokes (all of which are throughout both films). If robots can "feel" and be "good" or "evil", have personalities etc. then why complain about gangsta robots? It is no more lame than any other Transformers concept.

And those corny jokes were in the first movie too - eg. part where the transformers say Sam wants to "mate" with Mikaela. I can post up a list of mistakes from the first film if you like - factual errors, crew and equipment often visible (including Sam's double), countless continuity errors, errors in geography, etc etc... However it is a few pages long...

I understand if you enjoyed this film but didn't think it was quite as good as the first. But if you disliked this film so much, I cannot see why you enjoyed the first at all...

For me the first one was ok.
I could handle the level displayed in part 1.
Was just way over the top in part 2.

But it wasn't just the corny jokes and OC style of "teenage love relationship problems", for me (yes only my opinion) the spectaculars of what made everyone in love with Transformers part 1, were over done in part 2.
Part 1 gave enough of a good thing and kept you in anticipation for the next dramatic transformers scene.
Part 2, it was always in your face and for me - too much.

No worries MO, the world would be a very boring place if we all had the same opinion :)

Hi Gav, Yeah I go to the movies for the same reason's as you. I only find myself being critical of a movie when it's not entertaining. And in this case I just wasn't entertained. I started to get bored with Trans 2 at about the 2hr mark & that's when I started to pull it apart. I was certainly expecting a better film then I saw.

This is not the first bad sequel. Think Spiderman 2 & 3, the Police Academy sequels, Bad Boys 2 (also a Michael Bay film), Weekend at Bernie's II, Predator 2, Rambo 3, both Matrix sequels, all the Alien sequels except Aliens, The 3rd & 4th Terminator films, all the Highlander sequels, the Karate Kid sequels, Oceans 12, Dumb & Dumber when Harry Met Lloyd. I could go on & on with this list.

TBH I can't remember the first Transformers that well. I do remember that I enjoyed it a lot more then the latest one. Maybe because it was new & unexpected. I remember feeling more of a connection to the autobots in the first one. That scene were they are hiding outside Sam's window comes to mind. I don't think the first one had as many robot fight scenes & explosions. I agree with what Mo said about the film being to much. After the 50th explosion it's hard to get excited about the next 50.

LOL there is a few sequels you've listed that I actually like, and some where I did not even like the originals... but that is just different tastes for you...

I rarely see a movie I don't like. Usually only 2 or 3 per year - and I go to the movies pretty much every week. Maybe I'm just easy to please! :P

Transformers 2 - special effects: A+ Plot: C Was light entertainment. Not as good as the first but I still enjoyed it.
Terminator Salvation - special effects: A Plot: C Does not compare to the 1 or 2. Christian Bale's american accent D- I'm sorry he is also casted in Terminator 5. Sam Worthington, well what a hottie A+ I see he is also cast for Perseus in "Clash of the Titans" (remake of one of my fav movies from the 80s)
