Oh, can I add that I've come to the conclusion that Christian Bale is a really crap actor!
From IMDB
"The Combination is a powerful and deeply affecting story of a contemporary Lebanese family in urban Australia.
John Morkos (George Basha) is released from prison intent on a new life, free of his old ways. But he finds his younger brother Charlie (Firass Dirani) being lured by the local underworld. George's demands to stay clear of crime fall on deaf ears -- Charlie has no respect for the former crim.
In the thrall of gang leader Zeus (Ali Haidar), Charlies life oscillates between the schoolyard punch-ups and the gangland streets of his neighbourhood. When John meets Sydney (Clare Bowen), a local Aussie girl, and finds a job at the local boxing gym his life is challenged in unexpected ways. But Charlies continuing descent into the world of crime places the his whole family in harm's way forcing John to risk his new life to right his younger brother's wrong"
Well normally i only see acclaimed indepedent films, but have seen a few hollywood ones of late.
Transformers 2 was better than expected - less corny dialogue. 6/10
Terminator 4 -as a massive fan of the franchise, this was disappointing. 5/10. I even loved the third one.
State of Play: Russel Crowe and particularly Ben Affleck often irritate me, however, this was surprisingly intriguing. 7/10
Disgrace - a tad slow going, an interesting look at Modern South Africa. What distanced me from the film was my inability to relate to the female protagonist's decision to endure her plight and seemingly accept it as destiny, rather than return to the city or go overseas. Great acting by John Malkovich as always In addition, it was a tad slow 6.5/10
Transformers "revenge of the fallen" is fucking insane! Must see.
Transformer's part 2 - what a let down!
It was so over done!
Is there such thing as too much action?
It was getting annoying and quite boring by the end of it.
I love the special effects of transformers, loved the first one, but that's not it.
When you're given too much of a good thing and totally spoilt with it, it doesn't have that huge impact on you anymore.
Part 1 gave you just enough. Kept you in suspence for the next 'special scene'.
It wasn't in your face the whole time and that's what made it special.
Part 2, however, was just bang bang bang, in your face constantly!
Oh and FFS!! part of the story line was like i was watching an episode of the O.C!
The 1 liners and acting directed at 18 year olds.
They over did it.
They gave too much.
It isn't so special anymore after part 2.
1. I love you man 6/10 - I thought this was a let Down
2. Hangover 7/10 - I thought this was pretty good a bit better then I love you man
3. The proposal 9/10 - out of all the comedies I have seen this last few months this ones takes the cake. I went in thinking it was going to be a chick flick but it was funny and enjoyable.
4. Transformers 7.5/10. - it was better than I expected. I thought they did a good job although a bit dragged out in the end
Year one - Very bad, 2/10.
Transformers 2 - Also quite bad, far too long, 5/10.
Transformers Rise of The Fallen was a real disappointment especially after the first one was so good. What little plot there is became unintelligible & pointless towards the end. Pointless characters; like the parents & room mate added nothing. Yeah it had great special effects, & if it had of been over in 90mins then it might have been OK. But to sit through 2 1/2hrs you need an interesting story. Endless transformer battles become old fast. I did learn one thing from this movie, Megan Fox has nice boobies.
if you wanna watch a real trippy gross movie watch "the midnight meat train".
really fucked up movie,my personal thought, 2/10.
watched also terminator salvation, didnt mind it but part 1 and 2 will always be a favourite for me,
I watched Midnight Meat Train some time last year.
I didn't mind it.
Thought it was going to have B-grade written all over it, but it was ok.
The twist at the end i didn't know was coming.
I don't understand why ppl were disappointed with Transformers 2. Of course it had more action than the first, as the story of how and why they are on Earth needed to be told. Some bits were a bit corny/weird, but so are most non-realistic fictional action movies, and I don't see how it was that much different to the first Transformers...
But I guess we all have different tastes, and maybe I'm more easily entertained than some. Although I see Union thought very highly of 'The Proposal', where I thought it was pretty average - even for a chick flick...
