Pre - Metabolic Typing Testing - testing

After all the discussion and advice on MT I am thinking of taking the test in an an effort to improve my diet and nutrition.

As the test is on on-line questionaire I am looking to 'prepare' for the test so my answers can be as accurate as possible - rather that spend the money and have to answer some of the questions without really knowing the answer.

Can anyone provide questions or point me in the direction of sample tests that will prepare me for the real MT test from metabilictypingonline.com (as this seems to be the one recommended)

For example - if a question is "Do you feel satisfied after eating meat ot fatty foods before bed". I will have no idea and would like to try things like this to get an idea before I do the test.

    You help is appreciated.

I don't want to "poo-poo" anything on here - cause 90% of what I read is excellent info (the other 10% is not useful to me....eg: tribulus doses etc), and especially not the MT diet as I'm sure it's been very effective for some people.

But really, isn't it just another form of dieting/eating plan? I did the test, read the book, tried the diet - put on weight and felt no better. I then re-did the test, re-read the book, got more advice, did the diet again and it honestly didn't work for me. I know it (MT) is somewhat preached on here, but surely it's the same as any diet - it wont work for everyone.

Please guys - i'm not trying to dis anyone, I think the info many of you provide on here is invaluable and this site is brilliant, i'm just putting it out there for debate!

MGT - you really need to pay attention to how your body responds to food to do the MT test. Like if you have a big carb meal, do you feel tired after an hour. Does eating make your stomach hurt, do you feel more energetic after eating a fatty meal, protein meal, carb meal or balanced meal? If you have a high protein meal at night are you in a better mood in the morning etc

Some training diaries are really good for recording this information. The one that I got from my local supplements store has a place for you to write down your moods and feelings after each meal which makes you pay more attention to how you are feeling.

Alot of the rest of the MT test talks about your skin texture, your eyes shape of your face and other basic features. You will be able to answer these easily, but the hard one is how you respond to different kinds of foods.

    Hope this helps :o

Heh-heh...... (Just between you and I hitman - I started running over an hour ago...And my cardio is gooood)!!

As I said - i'm not disrespecting either the diet or those who recommend it and i'm sure the brains will outweigh the brawn in responses, but I still think it's a valid arguement. And i'll stand by my initial post..... damn it!!!!! :D

Squishy - thanks for your post.

The problem is I eat fairly strictly low carb at the moment and only have one carb meal a day after training (except on a cheat day when it is hard to assess anthing in excess!!- bread, chocolate, cereal etc. etc.) nor do I eat anything hours before bed.

So I was after a 'heads up' on thee sort of questions so I can start having a few of these type of meals and preparing responses in relation to how I feel etc. before paying for the test.

    Cheers,
    MGT.

MGT- They ask you some weird questions..

"how hard are your finger nails compared to the average person"

so you might have to pause the test.

For me, i just guessed and said average.. i probably wasted my $40

If you have difficulties with the the MT test use a certified advisor to maximise you investment.

Its very unlikely that you will get your MT and your food list perfect the first time as it is a PROCESS / LIFESTYLE not a DIET :-)

It is individualised nutrition so it will take time to master and perfect which may require that you re-test in 3 months. As most people are looking for a quick fix you need to understand the concept of MT and if you like it implement its principles. If you dont then perhaps MT isnt for you.

Knowing WHY you are doing it is much more powerful than just copying a diet from a book.

wood-duck, I suspect there is something else going on in your life that makes MT not work.

MT is by far the most scientific (and intuitive) approach I have ever seen to dieting. And as Belmont says, although we say dieting, it is really about a lifestyle, and perhaps more importantly, a process for you to take responsibility by understanding how foods affect you :).

Jesper, I think I am coming around to that way of thinking (ever so slowly); that is why I was trying to 'prepare' a little to make the test as accurate as possible.

So any suggestions of some the questions - so I can prepare - would be much appreciated. ie. Should I eat a carb only meal and see how I feel, a protein only meal; a fat only meal etc. etc.

    Thanks,
    MGT

one carb meal probably wont give you a definative answer but definately try a selection of different types of meals and make note of how you feel. This is easier for those who have already been following a relatively strict diet for a period of time.

From memory, there's also a number of questions about your appearance, size of head, ears etc or at least something like that
