    Uh-oh!!!

Have just had my MT "diagnosed" and here t'is:

Incidentally, I have ordered the book from the States too so as yet I haven't read it (obviously)

Parasymathetic Dominant (a meat eater, I couldn't have wished for any type better!!!)

    16% Sympathetic
    31% Balanced
    51% Parasympathetic
    25% Slow Oxidative
    74% Fast Oxidation

    Umm, just a few questions because i'd like to get started on planning my diet;

    1. I can't have wine or beer!!! Dear God, how will i live??? HOW WILL I LIVE??? :D

    2. Apparently I should "avoid" whey It's not like i have copious amounts of it, but it is conevenient at 4:20AM when I get up for a pre workout feed (I have it with oats and eggs). I also then have it after my BCAAs. How big an issue is this if I have it every day?

    3. They mention that portion sizes don't matter, just eat to my MT..............WTF? Is this like one of those "eat as much of whatever is on this list and you'll be right?" scenarios?

    4. MT suppliments. Does anyone doing the MT diet actually order these? I dont' think i've seen them mentioned here and I can't get the search function to work on this PC.

I'm assuming that at questions 2 & 3 will be covered in the book, along with the correct ratios of carbs:protein:fats.

Oh, here's the eating plan if it helps.

    Pete

    1. A little wine in moderation (perhaps a galass a day) shouldn't hurt too much.

    2. Whey can give digestive problems but if you're a protein type and handle whey fine, then it should be ok

    3. Its assumed that an intelligent person will stop eating once they are comfortably full :D Its true that protein types, including parasympathetic dominants, can eat a fair amount of protein without putting on much bodyfat. This does not apply to carbs. I wouldn't advise to "eat as much as you like" if you've got a big appitite as you'll still put on excess lbs. Construct your diet around your desired protein intake and make up the rest of your desired calories with the correct split of fats and carbs per your metabolic type recommendations so that everything is in balance.

    4. I personally have not used the MT Supplements, preferring instead to put more time and effort into my diet of whole foods. Thats not to say that the supps are not worth a try, but IMO not essential.

Reading the book will help greatly with all of your questions. All should become clear. Good luck :)

You can apply current weight loss formulas to calculate the number of cals to eat.

I agree with DAVA, is the foods are whole (and ideally organic) there is no need for supplements. But they are OK, I tried them a couple of years ago. There are specific supplements for each metabolic type.
