    Who can order an MRI?

I read on a site (2004), that GP's or sport physicians can not order MRI's.
    Who can?

Also, How much would one cost for Shoulder & lower back?

    Thanks guys

You'd have to see your doctor to get a referral. It would depending on the pathology centre. My wife, being a nurse, refers people to MIA. You could ring them and they will tell you what it will cost. You can always ask them to bulk bill it for you, or ask for a student discount.

Locations They are the bayside offices. Call them and ask. Not all of them do MRI.

My local GP Doctor, reffered me to the RPA joint specialist, who then sent me to get an MRI, it was all free. Took a few months tho.

Yes MRI's are a specialist request only, mine was $220 (Sydney), prices vary quite a bit.
