Anyone broken their head of femur???

I would like some advice from people that have broken their head of femur before.

Long story short. Broken the head of my femur awhile back completely shattered it resulted in nerve damage as well as blood damage (my hip is not getting blood so may die), I had a bolt put into my leg. I'm currently still on crutches for the next 3weeks. Then xray and then if all is good I can start gym.

Now my questions are has anyone ever experienced this or know anyone who has experienced this?
How did they cope with exercises?
    Did they have problems walking?
With regards to the muscle that has been cut into to allow the bolt to be put in, how long would it take to build the muscle up?
    What is the best exercises?

I ask these questions as I get different responses to who ever I speak to. One doctor says 3 months until bone will be strong another said 6months another said 12months. I have been told to just pump it in the gym when I can weight bear and depending how I cope with pain and how hard I push it will determine my success.

Though I'm hoping to go into Richmond to see a specialist sports doctor who mainly deal with professional sport people. So there is a long wait until I get in.

    Any information would be great.

    olympic park yes?

there are no definate answers to those questions and whatever your rehab person gives you will be your first port of call training wise

don't be too eager, you'll have developed plenty of deficiencies, muscle imbalances and such that will need to be amended before "pumping" it in the gym

if you want a good pt, my studio is in sth yarra...
