For a long time i have had mild obstructive sleep apnea (osa) which basically means your throat becomes too relaxed when your sleeping and stops air from getting in (snoring). This in my case would probably happen a few times a night significantly fragmenting my sleep.

Waking up after a night of this feels like every part of your body has been compacted enough to slow down blood flow - extremely tired, headache, red eyes. Not a great feeling.

I had put up with this probably since puberty and not even realised it. I had become so used to waking up like this that it felt normal.

Long story short i found out that i had this condition and was diagnosed with it at a sleeping facility. They recommend a PAP machine (pressurized air unit) which blows air to keep your airways open when you sleep. However its too expensive and not really practicle. So i decided to go with a mouth guard splint which holds the lower jaw forward so that it doesnt slide back and block the airway. I have been using this for a year and it helps alot however i still sometimes wake up tired somewhat after 8 hours sleep (all depends in what position i sleep for majority of the night)

I am not overweight nor do i smoke/drink or anything else that leads to this problem. Someone told me that if i had my tonsils removed this would allow my air ways to stay open without a mouth brace.

Is anyone out there experiencing the same issue?
Is it worth taking them out?
thnx
