    doctor

I went to doctor today to find out why im so burnt out with no motivation..

I went for some bloods that include: FBE, E/LFTs; TSH, ferritin, b12/folate, random, glucose, EBV serology

Could someone please elaborate on what these mean??

I also found out that I have tonsilitis. Which I didn't even know! I guess its chronic.

The tests are: full blood count, kidney/liver function, thryoid function, Iron studies, B12/Folate are obvious, random??, glucose is fasting blood sugar level (an almost useless test), EBV is possibly Epstein-Barr virus test

Depends Jai. They may have enough to do the extra tests. Given the way you describe yourself, D and hormones would be important imo. Most of the other tests are clinical in nature, whereas D and hormones can have a mental impact.

Do you take any iron supps?

I was finding myself much the same a while ago and the doc said I needed more iron. Apparently it is common in athletes.

Am currently taking a reasonably high dose of iron and STILL when I donates platelettes the other day - the nurse said my iron was at the bottom end of normal and would have been too low to donate if I was giving whole blood.

If you can; get your testosterone, estrogen, progesterone, SHBG tested. They'll argue, but as I've said before, tell them you want a COMPLETE picture, well, as complete as some will allow, of your health.

She said D is fine, but because i have tonsilitis(could be the cause) that it isn't very necessary until later date if nothing is found. I knew that asking for hormone testing would be hard at my age haha, but if nothing comes back on these tests then we will move onto those.

    Thanks mate

EDIT: I went in about adrenal fatigue, and we didn't test for that... fuck

    Ok, good luck with it.

fwiw: if the tonsils are recurring, then get them out. The later you leave it, the bigger the potential hassles.

Death is very rare, but then any surgery can be fatal. I had mine out late in life and it sucked big time. Massive infection. Not a happy camper.

Jaiman: next time you want testing, go and write a list before you go to the dr so you don't forget everything!

Sim, I usually do write it down! I thought I would be alright this time, how I was wrong. When I go in for results I will ask some more things.

@t2, are there benefits from having tonsils out? How long is recovery

Also, with deficiancys, are they easily fixed through supplementation? Im quite excited for that bit :)
