Any suggestions for Darwin, or Cairns while im here?
Well well well, made an appointment at the 24hr medical centre today, rocked up, doctor called, sat down with the list and said im on supps, restricted diet, blah blah blah, need these initial bloods taken please doc.
His response was, oh, ok, youll have to pay for these if you want them all now, my heart sank, here we go again, friggn doctors... Then he said in his israeli accent, lol, "so we do it over 3 days", with a big smile, hahaha
Friggn awesome, easy doctor to talk to as well, asked a few questions about body function etc and he was very clear an concise...
Just got 4 done today, PM if you want his details
Went to my GP last night with a bacterial infection from drinking water from a tap which was being suppiled by tank... not a good feeling anyway thought Id kill two birds with one stone and gave her a list of blood tests that were posted by T2 that I wanted done and guess what.. she gave me a script for-
FBE
UEC
LFTs
TFTs
Fasting Lipid studies
Thats it! She said the rest was a waste of time and I didnt need them.
So now Im taking T2s advise and going to see a Holistic GP
Sadly, her thinking is what's largely wrong with medicine today:
Let's not worry about prevention, let's just be able to write a script for a drug when you come in with symptoms.
God forbid we should do anything to reduce the influence of drug companies as a consequence.
Let's not work to reduce the demands on the medical system, let's just continue to see it struggle.
Staggering in its stupidity.
Good luck with the holisitic GPs.

T2 are you still trying to get into politics?
i went to my doctor last week asking for a series of tests and got the same kind of response.
he wouldn't even test me for estrogen stating that 'males don't need to be tested for estrogen' and that he's never had a guy asking to get his estrogen tested before.
hey Brenny, i assume you contacted Dr David Main? can you let me know how you go with him, if you see him?
cheers

This is a very interesting topic.
I assume that doing these test's will help in determining what your body requires for optimum performance? say... i might be lacking in Sodium/potassium or low levels of Testosterone etc etc.
Sfter the test's though... how would you guys find the best way to change what the test has told you? supps/diet? combo?
Just curious to see what everyone else would do.
Cheers

There are a couple of reasons why I recommend the range of tests that I do.
1. To see if there are any immediate health issues that need to be dealt with.
2. To get a benchmark for future tests.
The first is obvious. A comprehensive testing plan will allow you to identity specific issues that need attention now. In my case? It highlighted a number of serious health concerns, one of which was life-threatening. Without that range of test being done, when they were, I would now be dead.
The second reason allows you to track your health and see if issues are starting to develop. By having these tests done annually (or as frequently as may be needed, depending on initial results, you can see trends that can alert you to issues before they become serious. It also allows you to monitor any particular supp protocol you put in place.
