    HIIT headache

When i go hard at the cross trainer, my heart rate hit 180-190 and i got a mad headache.. I've had my blood pressure checked and it's fine (will post the numbers tonight when i get home) Is it normal to feel like my head is blocked and pressured?

Also after throughout the day, my lungs and throat hurt inside when i breathe.. Hard to explain, but it feels very clean though it still hurts :S
    + like they are compressed

ehhhh, yeh. Hope that makes sense

    Cheers BD

What are you hoping to achieve? If it's fat burn, back off. You're working too high on the intensity scale.

Not sure what your fitness is like, Jaiman, but you seem quite fresh to all this and your body takes time to adjust to conditioning, including cardiovascular and aerobic/anaerobic conditioning. I would suggest you're working too hard and getting into some hypoxic territory (low oxygen). Back off on the intensity and that should help you avoid the crappy feelings you're getting at present.

Just curious how many minutes you can sustain this heart rate brosef?

I've been watching a fair bit of Le Tour De France on SBS the past few weeks. On very hard climbs a rider will get his heart rate up to 170 - 180 for short busts of maybe 5 minutes. These guys are elite athletes & they can only sustain such a high heart rate for a few minutes at most. For the rest of a climb they are sitting around 140 - 150 BPM.

Do yo wear a HRM or are you relying on the cardio machine's HRM?

    Do you still smoke?

I can sustain it for about 3-4 minutes. It's not so much i'm out of breathe it's just my head feels like a baloon and it freekin cains.

I rely on the machine HRM, but i've also counted from pulse and it comes out the same as machine.

There's a simple solution here...if it hurts, don't do it! Those machine heart rates are not accurate, and I would recommend a HR monitor if you're going to continue to track your fitness, mate.

    Check out the POLAR range.
