Also i know if i say i have a family history of CFS the easiest thing to do for a GP would be to say that i have it to when i rather find out what is the real cause of the problem is and if it really is CFS which i doupt.

    We have similar issues.

Chronic fatigue (like chronic daily headache) is just a term to describe symptoms.

The underlying mechanism is not understood.

Unfortunately, this may mean having to cope with it forever - indeed, let's face it, some people (eg most of Africa) just have shit lifes. Not everyone's life is rosy.

However, I find I am more optimistic about my condition actually trying to improve it, rather than resigning myself to a pointless life.

I would advise doing as much google research as possible. There are clinics which specialise in CFS.

Give up in 10, 20 years, not now

If my testogel doesn't totally ameliorate my problems, I will pursue the CFS angle (as I have pursued the neurological angle as far as it can go).

Well after being on 2 x daily testogel I got my results back.

    Total Test 9.2 (6-30)
    SHBG 18 (15-70)
    FAI 51 (18-210)
    DHEA-sulphate 3.4 (7-16.1)
    Oestradiol 56 (<200)

    Comments (esp take 2)

I'm a bit disappointed. I felt great on 2xdaily testogel for 5 days and then it disappeared. On the day of the test I actually had been using 2.5xtestogel for a 1/2 week but then realise this wasn't permitted.

I'm not sure how bad this DHEA score is and what is means. It does support the adrenal fatigue hypothesis

I will ask to get prescribed reandron. Apparently this gives a avg testosterone of about 15.

I have never had any interest in sex - it would be nice to see whether a higher testosterone (15-25) would solve this issue.

mate, as you know i've been on reandron. I dont think its drugs you need mate, i think its your mental state to be honest thats causing the problem

My mental state? Please elaborate (I won't get defensive about this).

I have felt no low moods on testosterone. My disappointment is the initial, substantial increase in energy has diminished.
I have seen a psychiatrist and he said I had no signs of clinical depression.

To explain my history: before late 2005, I had no problems. On late November, I had a headache which has never ceased. It was accompanied by fatigue. Neurologist have diagnosed this as "new daily persistent headache" but I have to hope there is some other underlying cause, as this syndrome is essentially a career death sentence.

Ask for a script for DHEA.
Winners make it happen...losers let it happen.

I will from the hormonal doctor I see in the 2 weeks and the urologist next week. My GP had never heard of DHEA so I didn't bother asking him for a script. From what I have read mere prescription of DHEA will not solve adrenal fatigue (although may be part of the solution).
To help with this endeavor however, I am avoiding stims, and limiting exercise to 3 times per week ATM. I didn't find any of those "adrenal fatigue" formulations of any use.

DHEA seems to be related to mental functioning so I hope this is partly causative of my post November 2005 mental fog.

If it's Dr T you're seeing, you should have no probs in getting what you need.

Sim - Curious to know what time of the morning those latest results are?

And I take it you didn't apply gel before the test?

They were in the morning (9:40am).

Yes I did take the gel 3 hours before the test. So my levels should have been at their maximum.

that's pretty bad score for maximum but i guess someone said before they genrally reaise your level by 10 and you were at 0 before so there you go....

@dava do you really think a mental condition could lower someones test to 0-1, i agree that sim may not be in the best of train of thought atm. But to be on 0 i would think like deression and stress can lower your T by a 3rd or a half at most but to completely wipe it out??

but I was on 2 daily and did 2.5 for several days before the test.

So it's not a great result

    It's 1%, 50 mg per sachet.

So 2xdaily is 700mg per week, 2.5 is almost 900mg.

The absorption rate must be extremely low for me at least.

My older brother also has low T and will probably go on testogel when he sees the same doctor - will be interesting if he's as non-responsive.
