maybe i should :)
maybe i should :)
started 91.4kg
weigh in 89kg
loss 1.4kg
really happy with this result. I suffer from chronic headaches and migraines. I actually have a headache every single day, and have done for last 5years. Last two weeks they have been getting worse, not sure why, to the point where i was put on prescription narcotics this week to try and break the cycle. The pain has been so bad this week that I can't sleep, and sit in a dark room, but through it all, i ate and trained to lose 1.4kg. Since starting I would say that this week is my biggest triumph, as although I have lost similar weight in other weeks, this week i pushed through the pain barrier.
must add that after training I was to the point of tears, but still did it.
Does low carb dieting make it worse?
Reps for you for training through the headaches mate!
makes no difference, tried countless things over the years and nothing seems to make a difference.
thanks guys
did body fat today at tafe, two different ways.
first was with calipers in four different spots then added and placed on a scale. (got the teacher to do mine) came in at 17.7%
then with scales. the scales takes your weight and body fat % by sending a electric current up one leg, then it comes out the other.
result 15.5%
my iphone app which does it a different way again has me at 15.1%
so result.... NFI
Calipers would be more accurate, but you would need a 7 - 9 point to be close.
My rule would be calipers + 2%.
I've just bought some of those scales which measure BF%
I'm about 24-25%!
I've also got some body fat calipers. They came with instructions on how to measure yourself, and they're putting me at 17-18%
I can still see some ab separation so I don't think I'm over 20%
When I get my shit squared in regards to diet and training plan I'll use the average of the calipers and scales - try to average out the errors.
Really, it doesn't matter if they're right or wrong - as long as they are consistent, you'll be able to track your changes.
no change this week. Ate clean but ate more this week, back at 2200 calories just for the week.
still have bad pain, doctor wanted to rule out diet, which i never believed it would be anyway.
had ct scan last thursday and MRI this weds, so i hope they are all clean.
did a bit of walking, but was on a restricted program as per docs orders.
he has cleared me now though, hence my other thread. back training as of monday morn.
current weight 89kg
checked out dohertys today, and I hope to start training there hopefully this weekend or sometime next week, will get myself sorted as soon as i am paid!
Where do you live dude?
If you're looking at dohertys in the city (flinders st), then I recommend you check out Olympia gym in Southbank / South Melb.
I've checked them both out and I think that Olympia is much better... unless you're planning on training at crazy hours of the night/morning and need a 24hr gym.
do you train there?
I used to live up the road from there. I totally forgot about that gym.
any idea of prices and hours so i can compare?
most of the time if i train in the morning it will be around 5-5:30am and at night it won't be until 7pm. My mrs s happy for me to train, but i want to do it when my son is asleep as he is so much work and its unfair to dump him on her. This is why i was thinking doherty's as it is 24/7
I've just moved to Melbourne 4 weeks ago. In that time, I've checked out re-creation sth melb (good, not really a bodybuilding/strength gym, and damn expensive),
genesis flinders st (don't bother!) dohertys (good, but the tunnel system thing isn't good), and now I've found Olympia. I've only been there 3 times, but it's got everything I need and it's relatively cheap. It's got a good 'no bullshit' strength & bodybuilding vibe to the place - helps get the right mindset for some serious training. Having said that, it's not full of meatheads.
Casual visits are $10 or you can get 10 for $90. I think a 12 month membership is $495.
I'm not sure of hours, I think it's open at either 6 or 7am, and evenings til about 9 or 10...
I'm not sure though. Drop in and have a look. The owner of the joint (Paul) is a good friendly bloke and he may even let you have a free first training session. Speak to him about the prices and opening hours.
I will check it out for sure, then make my choice.
I like the payment options of dohertys i must admit
