    Now Taking Article Requests

    Hey SM Guys and Gals,

Ok, so we have been talking with one of our website writers Dr. David Ryan, D.C. who is the Co-Chairman/Medical Director of the Arnold Fitness Weekend, Arnold Fitness Weekend Medical Team & Olympia Weekend and we have decided that we will be taking some requests from SM members for article topics which will be written by Dr. Ryan and posted up on the website.

Obviously he can't write an article on every topic requested so we will be selecting some of the more appropriate requests which will benefit the majority of readers.

If you are interested in having a topic of your choice explored in more detail by the DOC himself, simply post your topic in this thread or alternatively send your topic request to us via email at info@dynaplexx.com.au

    Regards,

an article on what blue heaven actually taste like, lol no joking.

a good one ive always wanted an outside perspective on is Tea. Green and white more specifically are they really worth it?

the correlation between workingout and your immune system does it relaly help?

.Anyone can become a champion. All it takes is sustained obsession. The obsession part is easy. It's sustaining it that most people fail at.

    Hi Dynaplexx,

Wow this is a really great offer indeed. I have a few ideas (no doubt some bad ones - hopefully some good ones too!).

    * Intermittent fasting (also covering fasted training)?
    * Meal Frequency - is 9/10/12 small meals a day really best? If so - why?
    * The great Insulin debate (pre/post/peri insulin spikes)?
    * Glutathione (this is in a product Max GXL and is getting a lot of hype)

Sorry - these are pretty much what I am interested in and perhaps don't represent the views of a wider audience. Thanks for the opportunity to make some suggestions though.

I am glad you are enoying the opportunity. We will be doing plenty more things like this as I think it is great to get people involved with the website and what we do, not just force feed them the information we think they want to see!

Great suggestions by the way, all have been noted.

Sounds like "The Great Insulin Debate" is a topic quite a few people are interested in. This might actually be a good topic for Dr. Warren to have a stab at as he comes from a medical background being an Osteopathic Physician (along with having been a competitive bodybuilder), so this would be right up his alley.

Ditto on the insulin issue. I feel that a lot of the information offered on training nutrition is put out by people wanting to sell stuff. No issue with that, but a clear understanding of how insulin effects the post workout anabolic "window" and long term effects (i.e. diabetes) of regular insulin spiking would be good ammunition to have. That might cover how protein powders are utilised by the body; how much is used to build muscle, how much is converted to glucose, what the effect on blood sugar and insulin of a fast acting whey product, etc.
There are essential Amino Acids & essential Fats. There are no essential carbohydrates.

    AS with the other guys.

Though I would also be interested in what CMJK suggested about training fasted. ie. when cutting, should you do cardio in the morning after eating? or should you train fasted?

This could be the greatest debated topic I've seen :)

    Hi SM'ers,

I have just received a short answer to "The Great Insulin Debate" from Dr Ryan which many of you seem to be quite interested in. Without Dr Ryan going into some fairly complex physiology which may well bore some of you to death, this is what he had to say:

"It's pretty simple. Insulin spikes post exercise are a good thing. Just take in high carb and insulin is linked to human growth hormone. It is very simple. Spiking insulin prior to exercise is not logical since the idea is to burn fat in most cases. Insulin acts to open "doors' on the cell wall to allow nutrients in. Insulin has an inevitable crash, who wants that during a workout? It should be pointed out that insulin is around a hundred times more potent in the human body than testosterone."

If many of you still want a more in depth look at this topic we may still proceed in getting a more complex article written, but for now we may look more toward some of the other topics suggested so we can cover some other areas as the insulin topic has to some degree now been covered. Also for those who are willing to drop a few dollars on some good reading, both "The Z Diet" and more so "Better than Steroids" both written by Dr Willey also cover the insulin topic in great detail so might be of interest to some.
