Is putting your morning 8+ eggs into a shake over cooking them OK or any different?

    Hey guys,

just getting a bit sick of eating my morning eggs for breakfast,

im currently having 8 egg whites 1 full egg + 1 cup oatmeal + 1/2 shake for breakfast,

ive been using the puro mey frozen egg whites lately and there alot less drama in the morning,

but ive been thinking when I couldnt be bothered or dont feel like scrambled eggs for breakie

is it OK or no difference to put egg whites+ whole egg, + cup of oat meal, 1/2 scoop protein and some milk

directly into a shake and down the hatch.

Ive just read here and there that uncooked eggs arent as good as cooking them, just dont know if theres any truth behind it

also it feels alot less smaller when drunk all at once over cooking them and eating seperately is this a problem?

    cheers.
    Rob

It depends. If they are pasteurized then they are fine. Just check on the pack, but being frozen i would say they should be. This neutralizes the bad stuff in them which can inhibit the uptake of a certain vitamin.

This idea that raw egg whites are bad for you really only applies to fresh raw egg white, like you crack from the shell and separate yourself.

Lol, your not from Victoria are you? I am and i can only find one place in the entire state which sells frozen egg whites!

And yeah they will be more filling because when you cook them they loose some water weight i think.

Just checked there pasteurized, im happy about that answer, you can only eat scram eggs for breakfast soo much, + a shake will be 10x quicker.

Cant wait to give it a crack tomorrow, itll be a solid shake, but should taste good with choc wpc.

And no mate im in NSW, it was a bit of a fight to get them, apparantly woolies is supposed to stock so after getting looked at like I was nuts, I went to the manager and he sorted me out, theyve had them in stock since,

there really not much cheaper just alot less hassle + I dont like wasting all the yolks, just feels wrong. The lady kept asking me are you planning to make a few pavlovas LOL.

    cheers mate.

Doesnt the yolk have good cholesterol and fats which assist in rasing testerone levels?
Why dont you want the yolk?

Agreed egg yolks are a quality food source. Nine yolks a day might be a few to many, maybe 1/2 that would be appropriate. All depends really, but there is no reason to be afraid of eating a few yolks.

Im in Vic, and i still can get Eggwhites..

Safeway stopped stocking them, but coles still stocks them. They come in a plastic ziplock bag now rather than the carton.

Eating raw eggs often creates an allergy / sensitivity to them.

I eat raw eggs daily. Mostly just the whites but over a day probablt 6 whites and 3 whole eggs. I like them in my shakes.

I read once that raw egg protien is less bioavailable then cooked egg, by about 40%, I dont think I saw any study to back it up as such - and I don't care - I just like to add them to my shakes.

Thats what I believe, too, as in the end we're built to eat raw food. Im sure someone here will look up the study and post it. I wont stop eating raw though.
