Hey,

I bake my chicken and cook my rice every night.
for some reason i think its more effort pre prepping my foods beforehand. I just cook every meal whenever i get the feeling in the stomach.
Definatley prep all 'meat' meals on a daily basis, the night before. Things like nuts, tuna and oils etc just keep on hand at work, but cupboards and fridge are full of containers, I also prep my pre and post shakes and morning supplements also, so I get up down them, pack the esky and hit the gym, then to work, breakfast (eggs, spinach in the microwave) shower and then the desk...
I have a tubs of Protien powder/ creatine & BCAA's in the car, so when bonus workouts arise... wahla!
+ i always have a few 'sample' packs of NO boosters, protien aminos etc in my gym bag
Things like chicken and steak, Ill basically cook about a kg at a time, thats about 2 or 3 days worth.
Before starting the AD, i would also keep heaps of fruit, frozen vegies and instant rice at work. its a real big bonus having a fridge and kitchen facility.

I cook in bulk when I do cook.......and use LOTS of containers to store all the cooked food but also nuts/salad/veggies.
I need to start doing this. I cook the following day's chicken every night. I've been paranoid about stomach upsets but if cooking in bulk works for you MD then I'll give it a go.
I know chicken reheats really well, and was very surprised at how well salmon fillets reheat, but how does steak go? I would've thought that the lean cuts wouldn't reheat well at all. Or do you just eat them cold?
I cook up chicken breast on the grill about twice a week and eat it cold for lunch over the next 2-3 days with salad. Marinated lamb skewers are also ok grilled and eaten cold with salad and will keep for a couple of days in the fridge.
I boil batches of eggs and keep them handy in the fridge along with cottage cheese and tins of tuna the cupboard. Also when I cook meals for dinner I generally cook enough for 2 or three dinners and freeze some of it.
The biggest problem I find is fresh veg - it doesnt tend to stay fresh long in the fridge so its hard to buy bulk and store, I find I'm having to shop multiple times a week for veg or it wilts/dehydrates in the fridge before I get to eat it all.
How would you prep your Pre and Post shakes? whats in them?
When u cook ya 2-3 days worth of chicken/steak do you refri
gerate or freeze?
How much would you cook and do you refrigerate or freeze?
Do you refrigerate or freeze your 2-3 days worth of cooked chicken?
When you freeze your meals what do you do if you need them the next day?
For your eggs do you keep them in the fridge with the shell? how do you reheat and eat them?
Sorry for the question guys just seeking alot of answers like usual ;)
Before I grill the chicken I cut the breasts up into about 3 or 4 strips(cooks quicker/easier this way), sometimes I'll marinate it otherwise I'll just throw in on the bbq grill as is. I wrap the cooked chicken strips in aluminum foil in meal size portions and keep them in the fridge. They'll keep for a couple of days without a problem. I dont mind cold cooked chicken!
If I'm going to eat the same thing I just cooked within the next couple of days, I wont bother freezing it I'll just put it in the fridge. I dont freeze "dry" cooked meats. If its an indian curry or spaghetti sauce or something in a liquid/gravy then I'll freeze it for later.
If I have something frozen I generally take it out and put it in the fridge the day before I know I want it or if I want it for that night I will just take it out in the morning and leave it out to thaw during the day whilst I'm at work. Last resort is the microwave on low setting, but I hate thawing things in the microwave.
Yep eggs I just shove back in the fridge in their shells after they have boiled for about 7min or so(might pay to mark them so you know which ones have been cooked!). They should keep for a week like this no probs. I just eat them cold with a sprinkle of pepper on them. You can also mash them up with some mayo and a bit of curry powder - goes good in a sandwich or on toast.
In the morning i get the meat out of the freezer and into the fridge to defrost a bit during the day.
When i get home i cook the next days worth.
Once your in a cycle it becomes second nature.
This is what i do, I make a big ass bowl of brown rice once every 2 days. Very easy for me. Just before i go to bed every night, i get 2 chicken fillets from the frezzer and put them into a plate and chuck it in the fridge.
AS SOON AS, i wake up, i get a pot, put in about 4 eggs and let it boil. Jump in the shower, get dressed, then make my oats in a pot, and its done. Oats, with boiled eggs and fish oils. And usually have a apple on the way to work.
Then i just order a chicken with salad, wholemeal bread at work costs me 4$. Then 2 hours later, i have Tuna at my desk straight from the can, with 6 rice cakes.
Then i'd go home, the two chicken fillets from last nite would of been defrosted, chuck it in the grill, and 5-10 mins its done. Also i just boil some frozen vegies in a pot, which takes about 5 mins. And also just reheat my brown rice. So i have, Brown rice, vegies and chicken and also take my fish oils.
Then i go workout.
Then after workout, i have a protien shake with water.
Then i come home. Reheat the chicken, brown rice, and vegies and eat that again.
Then i'd have a protien shake before bed, with some cottage cheese, and take my fish oils.
Thats it Folks. I'm very plain, i hate cooking, so i dont do it much at all, and i never put anything on my chicken or foods, tastes fine to me. Doesnt botther me putting all this flavour stuff on my food. But i would love to know if there is any like sauses or anything that would be good lol. But there you have it bud. And i just snack on my nuts throughout the day
Good thread.
I cook for two days at a time. I also buy quality meats at a wholesalers not in coles. What I order comes diced
1/2kg of chicken
1/2kg of beef
all onto the george and into containers. Spinach and Broc on top. Eat which ever two tickle my fancy the next day and same the day after....and repeat.
I have a Smoothy in the morning consisting of fuit and no flavour protein and ice which i prepare there and then.
One protein shake for post work out, dry i add water at the gym. Bcaa Eaas creatine into my waterbottle.
I also pack a small container of almond and i also throw in my omeaga 3 caps in there too. I take the rest with my smoothy.

**My Tip**
Pour about 5 to 10 mls of oil ontop just before zapping your steaks, i generallty heat for two minutes and wahala, chuck in a few mushies as well if you like em.
generally i have my red meat really rare, so when i reheat its still pretty tender, just be sure to whack em in the fridge not long after they settle in a small container with minimal space. should be fine, i have never had any issues, juicy steak sure beats a dried out breast anyday

Shakes are just general mate , protien, BCAA's creatine pre & pwo sups if using etc etc, just a time saver..
I dont freeze anything, 2-3 days worth of meals in the fridge, so for me thats about 12 containers ( 4-5) a day, 200g meat and 1 cup carbs, a splash of oil or nuts in each and bob's a bodybuilders uncle! I use an esky if catching the train & i keep a big ass cooler in the back of the car.
never had a drama!
