    Intermittent Fasting

    Anyone done it before?

Been doing some research - seems interesting with some science to back it up too.

    Interested in peoples thoughts/comments/experiences.

What do you hope to achieve by not eating?

I did IF for 8 weeks last year for a cut.
Think I lost a little too much muscle though.

The part I really loved was not eating until 3:00pm and just eating 3 meals within 8 hours, last meal by 11:00pm.
Sometimes I really hate eating, so this was very good for me.
Still had plenty of energy throughout the day, and I wasn't always thinking of having to eat every 3 or so hours.

I wouldn't do it again, although I don't get too bothered if I don't eat too frequently these days.

    Here's my 8 week results:

You can also gain lean muscle/weight mass with IF, although it does seem to work better when cutting.

There is a growing body of science that supports the idea of intermittent fasting, not as a weight loss tool, but as part of a healthy living protocol.

Thanks T2. This is the sort of information I am uncovering also.

However by the looks of some of the responses so far - perhaps Sizematters isn't the correct forum for people to discuss out of the norm topics. Shame really - I thought it might have been.

BRB.....I'm off to have my post workout shake within 29 minutes 34.4 seconds of completing my workout........

    *yawn*
