    Eating Out: A guide.

    Hey guys,

I thought we could get a list together of all the favourite places we like to eat out. The catch is, I'm looking for places that serve meals that can actually be placed in to a diet (or as a lighter option cheat meal). For example, if a restaurant serves a phenomenal grilled chicken and veg dish, I want that in this thread. Sometimes it's unavoidable to have to go out and not eat at home (those of us with girlfriends / boyfriends will understand - haha). So places where we can still eat healthy and enjoy a nice night out with family and friends would be great to know. Most places do have a "healthy" dish, but a truly healthy dish is few and far between.

For those who just have a favourite restaurant for a cheat meal that is a must try - you can also post here, just make sure to state this in the post.

    This template should be used:

    Location:
    Name of Restaurant:
    Name of Dish:
    What is it?:
    Healthy or Cheat Meal?:
    Comments:

    I've got a couple below.

Location: Gold Coast Highway, Mermaid, Gold Coast, Australia
    Name of Restaurant: Roti Hut
Name of Dish: Lamb and Veg Roti
What is it?: Big chunks of Lamb, mixed with veg (beans, carrot, cabbage etc) and a little bit of carribean spices and sauce, wrapped in a roti wrap (carribean wrap made out of wheat, water and flour).
    Healthy or Cheat Meal?: Healthy
Comments: Taste soooo good. Generous with the meats, very filling. Probably better for someone on a moderate carb diet as a fair few carbs involved in the wrap I suspect. Cheap meal too - $9 - $9.50. Also available: chicken, fish, beef, pork, prawn and potato.

Location: Conrad Jupiters, Broadbeach, Gold Coast, Australia
    Name of Restaurant: Spinners
Name of Dish: Warm Greek Lamb Salad
What is it?: Lamb Skewers atop a salad of mesclan lettuce, fetta, sundried tomatoes, olives and balsamic dressing
    Healthy or Cheat Meal?: Healthy
Comments: Great meal. A little small but that isn't a bad thing when you're on a diet, because if you get served a large meal you're going to eat it all anyway. Really tender Lamb cooked medium rare and the salad was really nice too. Another bonus is that the menu is very diverse so you can take anyone there and it is often open quite late due to being inside the casino. Slightly expensive, but not over the top ($19.50).

Fire away, lets get a nice list going!

I know that Cafe Paesano in North Adelaide caters for people who are on bodybuilding diets. They also have normal food for the families of us all too. :) I found out about them through the australian muscle store in Salisbury.
PAIN is just WEAKNESS leaving the BODY.

Weird - I searched and didn't find anything.

Anyway, lets keep this thread in my above format ONLY then and take out the cheat meal aspect. lets make it purely about good healthy meals that can be adapted to your diet.

Korean BBQ restaurants are always a good place too load up on meat. There's an all you can eat one in Hurstville (Sydney) & another one in Parra. The one in Hurstville is called Lim's. I forget how much, maybe $30 each. But for that you get something like 20 selections of various BBQ meats. Different cuts of beef, pork & chicken with various seasonings + various squid dishes to BBQ. You collect the raw meats yourself from a big refrigerated buffet setup in the middle of the restaurant (which is constantly getting re-stocked from the kitchen). Then you take the meat back too your table & cook it up on your own BBQ. There are salad's, soups & rice (of course) & even a soft serve machine & basic fruit salad for desert. But you really go there for the meat, everything else is just a bonus. If you've got a Korean friend you should bring them along; you'll get much better service. It's a great place too go with a large (hungry) group.

    Best too book:

    Lim's Charcoal BBQ Buffet Restaurant
    374 Forest Rd, HURSTVILLE, NSW

Yeah that's what I was going for mate. i was really looking for a list of places that people can eat at, include in their diet and not feel bad about them. Places that serve truly healthy meals are pretty rare so I was hoping to get a nice list together here.

However, if the mods want to get rid of it, that's fine also :)
