Skinless Chicken Thigh Fillets vs Chicken Breast

On the BBQ I find the chicken thigh fillets (skin off) to be much juicer and yummier to eat.

The breast gets a bit dry.
And I also like how the thigh is easy to cook, the entire fillet can just be thrown on.

Just wondering .. is there much difference between the two in regards to protein and nutrition?

    Thanks

In regard of protein and nutrition, its like a WPI and WPC whey.

The thighs have more fat and less protein then the breast due to the breast being lean.

Yep the thigh fillets just have more fat on them - That's why they taste better :P

I only ever buy breast fillets. Buy a metal mallet to pound the chicken flat and they cook easily and quickly on the BBQ as well. I also find that I can eat quite a few thigh fillets if I want to but I only ever need one decent size chicken breast.

200 g of Chicken Raw: Thigh Meat no skin, raw 238 cals 7.8g Fat 39.3g Prot
200 g of Chicken Raw: Breast Meat, no skin raw 220 cals 2.5g Fat 46.2g Prot

So three times the fat, 15% less protein, in base numbers.

Hardly a major problem, assuming you take those numbers into account when calculating macros etc.

As others have said the thigh fillets have more fat on them.

However, if you are having troubles cooking the chicken breast you can cut them in half thickness wise which makes them thinner and quicker to cook.

    Personally I prefer chicken breast

When you weigh out the chicken, does that include the weight of the bone? For a cut like maryland or is it just the edible portion?

It depends in what your body does with the calories consumed.

A Fast Oxidiser does much better on a chicken thigh because of its higher purine.

If I eat a chicken breast my hunger returns much sooner than a chicken thigh. The same applies to turkey.

If you were doing a keto style diet I would suggest thigh over breast.

Thigh or Breast? mate always mix it up. See how it responds and listen to your body.
As a side note my 2 cents worth: Reason for lack of progress... I think too many people get too caught up in the tiny details, always use common sense - even at the advanced level unless you're pre comp, training and diet shouldn't be overly scrutinized and regimented.

    ^^^^^agree 100%^^^^^^

When BBQ'ing breasts I always run a blade over the 'thick' part, puttin a few 'slashes' in the meat, drizzle some lemon and/or cayan pepper & herbs, done!

Helps with the heat getting through, adds a bit of a nice touch to the presentation (if that matters at the BBY) and also stays nice and juicy.

the thigh is classed as a dark meat, where the breast is classed as a white meat.

I don't really like the taste of thigh, the higher fat content... my palate doesn't agree with.

Edit: the fat isn't a bad thing... i just stick to foods i like eating, instead of gagging while eating.
