    The Blood Type Diet

My friend who's prepping my diet for the next few weeks has urged me to eat the foods that suit my blood type.

Unfortunately for me being type B that totally rules out Chicken

has anyone got any experience or knowledge on the subject?

I've been researching it over the past few days and it looks interesting

I'm O+ mate, and a total carnivore at heart, so it suits me fine. My body does not like carbs very much, and I've used the blood type diet and felt good on it.

    Hey DAVA

you have clearly got outstanding results with your current diet and lifestyle, why do you feel the need to change it?

i wouldn't change the diet as such just some of the foods, like chicken. According to the blood type diet, chicken is to be avoided at all costs for type b's.

What are the benefits to avoiding it?

"It is important to leave off chicken for Type Bs. Chicken contains a Blood Type B agglutinating lectin in its muscle tissue, which attack the bloodstream and potentially lead to strokes and immune disorders. Type Bs thrive on deep-ocean fish, but should avoid all shellfish. The shellfish contain lectins that are disruptive to the Type B system."

And how does agglutinating (I had to look that word up) lectin in muscle tissue potentially lead to strokes and immune disorders? And how great is this risk, as many foods we eat can potentially lead to problems, but the potential is so small as to not be a realistic problem

I had to look lectin up on wiki and Im not following, just yet, what the problem is... Im still slowly reading through this link but I may have to read it a few times. Can you put it in lay speak for me?

Nothing for you then Gb lol. I didnt think RH was an actual blood group as such though. The + and - mean whether or not the substance (rhesus) is present. Most of us have the rhesus part so that makes us +. so A+ etc etc. Correct me if im wrong
