Yeah I know what u are getting at cos I have done some research on RH negative"ness" as well. Its kinda complicated but I do know its complexity is on the rarer end of the spectrum.
What I do know is that I need to be careful with my second child as either it or I could die due to blood mixing! Scary huh but I think these days they know heaps about the blood type to prevent it happening, and keep a close watch on those who have it and are pregnant.

    Haha lol no.

Probably should have put that another way!

Apparently its only a woman's SECOND child that could be affected by the blood type. For some reason there is nothing to worry about with the first child. Weird huh?

ATTN EVERYONE = gymbunny - NOT A MUM lol

    Watch me confuse this.

Most of us are positive. Some of us are negative (gb). IF a rhesus negative mother has a rhesus positive partner there can be issues with the second pregnancy. IF the mum is negative and dad positive, it could go either way with the babies blood type. IF the baby takes after the dad and is positive, theres is a chance the babies blood will mix with the mums (or something). The mothers body then produces something that attacks the 'foreign' blood type (antibodies).

So the first baby will often be born ok but in future pregnancies the antibodies in the mums blood will attack the foetus (cause its a foreign object due to blood type). Baby can be super sick or even die.

It can be prevented if they give mum an injection straight after the first babies birth. the injection can stop those antibodies forming.

Ive found this blood type diet rather interesting Dava. Going to look to incorporate into my diet.

No meat for me. A+ blood group.

Question - it says Tofu should be a staple. I recall someting around tofu being estrogenic? Am I incorrect on that one?

Yeh Gav its certainly 'different'. I'll have a go - I'm not at your level of physique or training so I don't really have much to lose.

Also interested in no (or very restricted) dairy product. So that'd be no whey I'm also assuming?

I dont know what level you think im at, just an amatuer who loves weight training like 99% of the forum! But flattery will get you everywhere!

My hippy naturopath g/f suggested the blood type diet to me a while ago - she knows I'd never follow it exactly due to my bodybuilding diet, but suggests I make an effort with some of the food groups.

"Type As flourish on vegetarian diets" - great, looks like I'll be having a f*ckload of WPC then (and I already use a heap)!

However, it says Type A's should avoid dairy - so there goes the WPC...

"Since Type As eat very little animal protein, nuts and seeds supply an important protein component." - I'll be pooping nuts and seeds to get the amount of protein I'm currently having!

"Tofu should be a staple in the Type A Diet." - Oh yummy...

I'm allowed seafood, but apart from salmon - I hate all seafood! Cant stand flaxseed oil, but apparently thats most beneficial for Type A's too. I love sweet potato, but not allowed have that either - although that might explain why my stomach becomes so bloated afterwards. And no bananas allowed

But apparently blackberries and blueberries are very beneficial - woooot! I have both these with my oats and WPC for breakfast. I also love grapefruit (great when dieting). So at least I've got 2 things right!

I have followed the blood type diet for the past 2yrs that I have been training and I am Group A which means I should be vegetarian and avoid all meat (predominantly vegetarian).

To get around this from a bb perspective I stick to chicken and turkey and either mince it or chop it up very finely to make it easier to digest. A blood types have a lot of trouble with digestion.

The blood type diet DOES work as I have recommended it to all of my clients and they have noticed significant improvements. Within the BB world you need to make modification to make it work for you and your body. For me I need to eat white meat but I definitely supplement with shakes and easy digestibles. I think I know who recommended this diet to you DAVA and trust me he knows what he is talking about. He has prepped heaps of people both for BB and general dieting and people always get the results they are looking for.

No flattery there Gav. I've seen the pics on the member gallery section (besides - look at your Av!) - trust me mate you are at a 'level' !!

Im giving it a go and I'm keen to see what happens. Did some groceries last night - sheesh nuts are expensive aren't they?!

Got some tofu too (I dont mind tofu actually). I love seafood anyways so I often feel much better when I have lots of fish.

Had a goats milk WPC shake this morning with strawberrys, blueberry's and oats! Was nice!!

But Whey protein is a no go.

Gav and tart65 - so a rice or soy protein would be the only recommendation I guess?

i went to the docs today and asked him about this Blood Type diet. He laughed and told me not to waste my time. He took bloods to check my test levels. Will report back in 2 weeks.
Not saying that it does not work, just what i were told a few hours ago. Still watching your thread with interest DAVA

    Keep up the great work

that doesn't surprise me mate. Most GP's are very conventional and havent heard of much newer ideas.

Personally, in my experience GP's are only good for prescriptions, referrals and sick lines.....

i once asked my sleep doctor about arginine and GH production and he said that if it isn't published in a medical journal most doc's wont know about it....
