Oh come on now mino, ProteinDirect is only on one of the posters as the major sponsor :) On the other one I am all the way at the bottom.
My wife tells me I have a bad habit: she says I use 1000 words to say something which would only need 50 words. If she reads this post she will probably say: "There you go again". Anyway, what I am trying to say is no one is perfect and yet I have learned to base my opinion about people not on what he or she says about x and y but based on my own personal experience with x and y. My friend at the show (the Maltese mafia one :) ) is a top bloke. Everytime I had to deal with him he was a real gentleman despite the warnings I have received from others about him. Anyway, I have been dealing with a few IFBB promoters and personally (my own experience) I have never had any issues with IFBB. I am talking here from a sponsor's point of view. Paul and Carole Graham have always been very professional in my dealings with them, they have helped me several times with reduced rates when my business wasn't doing so well (years ago) and once have even given me a huge bonus one that I have never asked for and one I have never dreamed of receiving. This was a very recent bonus and something no other bodybuilding organiser has ever offered me and I have done quite a few shows in the past 10 years. TD once gave me a very generous offer which I remember to this day and yet compared to the Grahams, again, it was something totally unexpected and something I am very appreciative of.
A few weeks back I was talking to a friend of mine who is an IFBB competitor and somehow the conversation turned to Paul and Carole Graham. He told me what I always suspected and that was that in all his dealings with them they were very professional and very supportive financially (my friend competed overseas in the IFBB World Championships representing Australia several times). Also just this week another friend of mine (an ex IFBB competitor) came to visit me and somehow the conversation turned to Paul Graham and this friend was mentioning how when he went to Sydney to compete he was very depleted and not feeling well and he didn't know who Paul Graham was (he thought he was just an official) and when he asked him about a place where he could eat Paul was very helpful and not only that but seeing that my friend wasn't feeling too well Paul somehow got him to the first of the queue at the registration just so my friend could go and get some food immediately afterwards.
Now I know no one is perfect and they probably have some shortcomings (I do too) but I just wanted to share my experience in dealing with them over the years. My experience with them has always been entirely positive and very very professional. There was once a small issue which was a small misunderstanding but compared with the bonuses I got from them and the reduced rates when my business wasn't doing so well, the small misunderstanding means nothing. Phew, my wife is right, I could have used less words to get my point across.
