Levrone Definition Transformation, Day 1: Canyon Run

    July 28th, 2009...

"OK, let’s get started. Right now I’m at 6% with calipers. Calipers can be misleading, the only real measure is the dunk tank. Given past experience I’m going to estimate that I’m at 8% actual body fat. I need to be at 3 or 3.5% to complete this next transformation. I’m giving myself 30 days.

Failure is not an option. When I know you’re watching, it’s like a blood oath, man. So keep watching, keep being vocal, and together we’ll get crazy shredded. I’m already visualizing it. Start seeing it right now.

I plan on training heavy but with higher reps. 12-15 reps, instead of 6-8 reps. Working the fast-twitch muscle, sculpting, losing fat and increasing conditioning and performance.

I’m going to be eating low carb, high protein. I’ll be sharing my diet weekly in the LevroneReport.com newsletter. I know you’re waiting on the MASS transformation nutritional info, and I’ll email that to you first, in the next few days. Thanks for your patience.

From the treadmill to the boxing ring and everything in between – I’m going to try out as many fat burning activities as possible. Starting with a 1.5 hour run in the canyon, below. This was a big workout – not for every day, more like twice a week. I wanted to start with a bang. Pick a safe, realistic goal that’s out of your comfort zone, and hit it. Let us know how you do. Seeing that you’re doing it too helps motivate me.

There might be a short service interruption later today or tomorrow as I switch the blog to a new server for more features and a forum. Don’t worry, I’m not going anywhere. I hope you’re not, either. Out."

    Levrone Transformation #2 • Abs

"Hey guys. There’s been a few minor changes to the blog and there will be more. I hope the switch didn’t throw any of you off too much, and thanks for your patience.

The forum is up and I’ll be fixing bugs and organizing forum sections over the next few days. The forum will be a home for your questions, thoughts, feelings, ideas.

I will be active on the forum. I’m not just another celebrity setting up a forum as a way to politely duck out of the conversation. I want to get to know you better and exchange ideas with you often.

The video below focuses on abs. You’ve been waiting for a long time for some Levrone-style abs instruction. Enjoy.

I hope you’re visualizing a clear picture of your soon-to-be ripped body. I know I am. If your were never quite able to chase down those elusive abs and cuts, this is your time. Use the magic of the blog, the power of the moment. I need to get shredded in 30 days and I’m taking you with me. Let’s do this.

    Kevin"

Levrone Transformation #2 • Park Workout

"We’ve got hundreds of signups on the forum. Still on the to do list is to break it up into sections and get on there daily to answer questions in a more efficient way than the comment threads. Sign up now and it’ll be up to speed before you know it.

The Levrone Insider Newsletter goes out TODAY. It contains my approach to nutrition during the MASS Transformation. It’s a simple, true rundown of the guidelines I followed and some thoughts about nutrition in general. I hope you find it useful.

I’m zigzagging around the country this week. The good news is the blog can be handled remotely. The bad news is that travel takes time and energy. I’m glad I had time to quickly get this park video up and I’ll do my best to check in every day and post whatever workouts I can manage on the go. It might get pretty creative. Out.

To Michael R, I hear you about wanting to join me on that run, that’s the whole point of this blog – strength in numbers. Seminar or training camp is in the future. But for now, if the blog can simulate a sense of partnership and accountability and give both of us incentive to push through, then it’s a success. Put in a good workout and know that I’m right there with you, bro. I know you guys have been more consistent and tenacious in your workouts as a result of this blog and I’m impressed by your commitment. Keep it up. Kevin, out."

    Giant set's....

    Levrone Transformation #2 • Supersets – Shoulders & Chest

"Supersets are a great way to add intensity, overload the muscles and work the cardio all at once. Great for definition. In this video I’m doing three exercises with one muscle group (shoulder giant set) followed immediately by three of a another group (chest). So you can call it supersets of giant sets if you want to get technical. Always go from heavy to light when you do giant sets.

The important thing is not what you call it, but that you DO it. Working out like this demands tremendous intensity and endurance. It adds variety and can help you break through plateaus.

Keep in mind that what you’re seeing below is one uncut take of six exercises in a row. I went through the whole cycle of six FOUR TIMES. It ain’t easy, but I think you’re ready. If I can do it, you can, too. Let me know how it goes. Out."

    Full Workout

    Shoulders and Chest

    4 supersets non-stop / 6 different exercises

Smith Machine Behind The Neck Press: 135 lbs x 10 reps

Side Lateral Raises: 35 lbs x 10 reps

Front dumbbell lateral raises: 35 lbs x 10 reps

Flat bench dumbbell press: 65 lbs x 10 reps

Incline dumbbell press: 60 lbs x 10 reps

    Dumbbell flies: 40 lbs x 10 reps

    Busy week – still training.

    August 11th, 2009...
"First order of business is to fill you in on the past few workouts. I’m behind on posting, but I can’t afford to get behind on training. It’s been going well, I’m more defined every day. It’s late – so I’ll be posting those programs tomorrow, along with some nutritional info.

I have some new videos planned for this week, too. I’ll be pushing the envelope and trying something new.

As trex257 said in the comments, I have been shooting scenes for a film and traveling quite a bit. I’m glad to be done with those fancy film cameras, and on to the simple hand-held video camera…

The camera that captures the truth, the pain, the commitment, the training. Where I feel most alive and in touch, and where I know I’m being seen and studied, where I know my efforts, my focus, my sacrifices, make a difference, to people who understand the call.

I’ve enjoyed checking out your forum posts. I’ll be posting more in the forum now that my schedule has calmed down.

Hang in there, I’m not going anywhere, this blog is my promise and my commitment, it keeps me on the path and motivates me just like it motivates you. Life may get in the way but I will always be back on LevroneReport.com, stronger, better, ready for growth.

    – Kevin."

Levrone Transformation #2 • Dry Heat Sauna

"It’s the final week of this 2nd Transformation and I have to finish strong. This is one thing I always did just before I went on stage for Mr. Olympia – that week leading up to it. This is one of my secrets.

Don’t even set foot in a sauna unless you know what you’re doing. Read the instructions or check with a doctor first. If you’re pregnant, or sick or not properly hydrated a million things could go wrong. Don’t wear clothes or work out in a sauna unless under the guidance of an accredited trainer.

I’m just showing you what I do. It doesn’t mean you need to do it. This video is not meant as instruction or recommendation. Anyone can benefit from brief periods in a sauna but your safety is paramount.

I’m taking a hardcore approach cause I’m a professional. And I knew that if I passed out, the camera man would be right there to drag me out. Hopefully he’d have the good sense to turn off the camera first. That’s what’s up. Out."
