Help me to Stop & Start my workouts !

    Hi All,

I'm one of these people who stop and start training and I hate it.. I train with Mates and by myself but I always seem to stop... I have put on a few kg now and loosing my selfasteam.. I'm really just want to find a way to keep working out and being happy...

What are peoples secret to keeping them self motivated ? How can I make sure I work out every day !

After reading some others I think I need to post more in here..

I'm male 30 90kg 5'8 so I'm over weight and my I'm suffering from it.. I really need to find something that motivates me to stay fit and bring my stress levels down..

Any help would be great, I will add to this with more info once I learn more about myself.. maybe a pic or two as well ...I guess this is me asking for help and not knowing where to start...

thanks for your support ! I will also search for others in my position in the past on this forum !

If finances allow for it, maybe try a Personal Trainer for a month or 2... Maybe get your mates on board and try to organise a couple of group sessions a week...
The biggest motivator for me is seeing results... Once you achieve 1 or 2 of your short term goals it really helps in being able to see the bigger picture....
Today I will do what you won't so Tomorrow I can do what you can't!

What made you stop in the past? What causes you to lose motivation?

    Hey Krom,

I'm not sure I just lose the motivation to get started, but once I start I get going and come out feeling so great !...

once you start seeing results you'll stay motivated.

the other thing is when you first get back into it not to go at it like a mad man. Ease yourself back into it.

As people in other threads have said they like feeling fatigued after working out (DOMs etc) but this can put you off just as easily when first starting back.

Even after a few years enjoying lifting weights and living the lifestyle, I've gone and got myself a trainer with a couple of mates, more for fitness and conditioning than anything else... We do an outdoor session once a week that incorporates boxing, agility, speed and sprint work... We still do our own resistance training in the gym, but this is just something extra to add to it....
My point is that you don't necessarily have to be a complete newbie to make use of a good PT..

    My best advice

Everytime you dont feel like training, badluck.

Like my martial arts instructor says, the only difference between a white belt and a black belt is the black belt never gave up.
Its only hard if you dont know how.

I find it really helps to think about how good you will feel once you've done a workout.

Also, try not to think about it too much - just DO it!

You must have a short term measurable goal eg lose 4kg is 4 weeks for example, lose 5cm from your waist line in 4 weeks etc.......you must have something specific to aim for....at the same time by having short term goals - have a long term goal but it has to be measurable.....your PT will ask you what your goal is and they will develop your sessions to acheiving this.....
